Hi Liz,I have a sneeky Feeling The Name Daw Originated Not in Sussex But Devon Or Cornwall Or Somerset .In the National Archives There are Wills Available. For the surname Daw.I have added these To show you.I Cant find Aaron at present there before his birth date.It does not Give parents. One Suggestion If you have the Church. That Aaron Jr Was Baptised in They may Have further details.Or will know Where to Get them.I noticed there Were a lot of Daws Family In Somerset or Cornwall. So its possible that Aarons Family May originally Have travelled to Sussex to live.
Only way to get info Before 1837 is by Bishops Transcripts. Most of these are held in the Brighton Archives. But as you can see by the first Listing of Elizabeth Daw they were in Sussex Around 1710.I have Checked Wills For Aaron Daw Sussex And There is Nothing. So of the poorer Class. If of the Gentry or Gentlemen OF Sussex ,Im sure there would Have been a will. Please Check Links i sent as One has some Early Daws From Sussex
