It kind of depends on what is causing the problem with your dog's ears. If it is caused by ear mites you can use olive oil in the ears. You need to drop a couple drops of oil on the flap of the ear and then about two to three in the ear canal itself. Massage the ear, and then let the dog shakes its head. After this clean out any debris or excess with a cottan ball. But the dog's ear problems may be caused by a yeast type of infection. You can usually tell this if there is a brownish colored wax build up. If this is the case then take a small amout of white vinegar and drop sevreal drops into the ear canal. Massage the ears and then clean out with a cotton ball. Do both of these treatments once a day until the infection clears up which is normaly about 7 days or earlier. I hope that this helps give you the answers you need. I would suggest though just like a human you shouldn't leave an animal go to long with out being seen by a vet so if the home remedy doesn't help maybe you can find a free clinic to have your dog looked at. There are many of those like that out there now. Take Care and Rainbow Blessings Bright Aurora |
