The crown indicates a power given by one greater than man. The white hair is sometimes a sign of wisdom or of the scorcerer.
In the right hand is a modified Ankh, which is a sign of eternal life and wisdom, the right is connected to that which is spiritual or godlike.
In the left hand, which is connected to earthly aspects he holds a ball of light. This is a symbol of power connected to earth ideals.
He also wears a robe and cloak of red. Red is symbolic of power, anger and survival. A reminder that power used wisely is power to, not power over.
He is seated on a throne that appears to be made of stone, another connection to the earth, but also not a very comfortable seat to occupy at times. The throne is adorned with rams. Rams symbolize strenght and power as well. They were used in biblical times as sacrifice and some legends have them sacrificing self for the greater good. These particular rams look to be ruthless at times.
He is wearing armor on his legs. Our legs are our support system, without their strength we would fall. Legs connect us to the earth.
The background of the picture is red and gold, also colors of power, earthly and godly.
The golden figures behind the thrown appear to be mountains, more symbols of strength and power, yet the one on the emperors right takes on an almost goulish form, a reminder that power can haunt one when ego is allowed to be in charge. There seems to be a small bit of water under that mountain. Water has the strength to move mountains. A possible message in this is that emotion can serve to balance strength for the good, or wash it away.
MMMMmm, I guess that's all I see for now
