~ Monty and I are at the dog park the other night..... This guy comes in and his large puppy comes bouncing in too. Monty and this other dog start playing with the young dog.. Then you see the puppy chasing the big dogs.. It was cuter than shit, the pup goes under the table then runs out from underneath and chases the dogs.. Then Monty and other dog chase pup and the pup runs and rolls on his back.. the two big dogs are barking and playing with the pup. To the puppys owner it looked like it was out of hand and that his pup was getting hurt. No yelps, and it wasnt out of hand. The owner takes his lease and whips Monty and this other dog and his pup got it too. I holler at him, if you hit my dog again I might have to hit you.... My mouth opened and out that flew. I felt bad.... I tried to tell him, cause I understood he was concerned but you cant be hitting other peoples dogs.. I told him they were playing and that I was the same way when Monty was young, but its a form of playing.. That this is what dogs do... He said he didnt think his dog was having fun, so he took his pup and left... There was a few people down there that night and one guy says to me, that I handled it better than he would have done... I laughed and said the dude would have kicked my ass... Anywyas havent seen him down there again, but an interesting night it was...

The urge to grab the leash and whack him with it would have overtaken me.

I'm sorry for it all... all the misunderstandings:  the man not knowing dogs but having a poor puppy that must contend with it... the Dad punishing the little girl for his own embarrassment...  sounds as though you did right to me, Ella

~ I do think I did right, but felt bad for both of us I guess. Just cause he didnt know any better.. Thinking his dog was getting hurt... He looked like he smacked them hard, but I think by the time he hit the dogs with the leash he had lessened it.. Then again I dont know for sure. I do know the dogs moved away from the puppy though..

No one hits monty unless its me and I just smack his ass when I wack him.. Hes so spoiled he doesnt no what anger is for the most part. I type that and think well thats not entirely true.. Hes been in trouble for some of his dog behavior, but for the most part he just love and loved some more.

That dude had big balls for whacking your dog I'll say that much! I would've snapped, crackled, popped on his ass too just like you did!

Speaking of kids getting hit in the store... the other nite while Victoria were at WalMarts this man started to cuss ugly at his 2 kids. They seemed to be about Mai-Lin's age, a boy and a girl. They didn't seem to be doing anything really out of the norm, but browsing at all the cakes and stuff. This man after cussing them out gets out of line, walks up to them and pulls each of them by their ears and begins to smack them in their faces!! I was so fucking pissed off! I said, "what a fucking asshole and someone should call DCFS on him because I can't imagine what he does to them while at home!" I said it loud enough for him to hear and he looked right at me too. When he did I gave him the filthiest look I could give and worded it to him," You make me sick bastard".

I probably would have yelled back too regarding the dogs.  Then I would have pressed charges for abusing my animal.

As for the jerks in the store, I'd have whipped out the phone and called the police to report him abusing the kids in front of customers.  I'll just bet that someone else would step up and act as a witness too.  I never let people get away with that crap.  It's sick.  I always speak up.

And yes, I've been told to mind my own f(*king buisness once before....to which I replied - since you are in public, your actions are my business.   I then called the police and reported her just in the off chance that she might have been reported before.  It's important to the kids to be a spokesperson and stand up for them every time.

I refuse to be a bystander when injustice occurs - just my lil pet peeve.  Gotta be something pretty drastic though....just a general spanking of a kid in the store is not what I consider drastic.  Using a leash on my animal as a whip is something I DO consider drastic.

You go, Ella and Lynnie - we gotta let idiots know they can't do some things - it's unacceptable behavior.

This reminds me of the time I was picking my son up from his elementary school and a Dad left his baby in a running suv while he ran inside. He came out to find a crowd of Moms standing around his suv, after having called the police, to prevent him from leaving. He not only had to deal with the police but he also had to deal with the pissed off Moms who were not shy about tearing him a new one for putting his baby in so much danger.

Thank you ROS! I didn't even think about calling the law because I was so pissed off that I wanted to choke the dude and that's straight up talk! I hope he got 4 flats on the way home from work the next day! I wonder what those poor children must go through if this is how he treats them in public. Makes me sick to even think about it. Fucking loser!

I think the thread veered off into kids Witch.  You know the twists and turns these threads take off on around here.

yanno, maybe the dogs are the victims and they will get over it, but it's really the jerks we are talking about who do this to animals, not the animals themselves.  If they'll do it to animals, they'll probably do it to people too.

~ most likely he had an anger problem. I felt bad that he made me open my mouth and say that to him... I felt like I was made to stick up for my dog.

Boy do we know about off the topic similar topic changes... Im very guilty of that...

Gurlll don't feel sorry about that. I do it all the time. It's like I have so much to talk about somedays that it's almost inevitable not to land up talking about rocks and then land up talking about what's for dinner. LOL!
