The Amulet S. Cat Apr 11/05
The untamed fury of the gathering storm Imbues the eerie stygian darkness With a will and a savage life of its own
Her candle's tossed on the branches Kindling smoulders, flames seize hold Ignite the pyre in a shower of sparks
She concentrates on the amber amulet Chanting, asking for help; guidance from the Celestial Moon Goddess
Wild, frenzied, fierce lightning crackles The raging wind howls in a mad tempest Tendrils of hair tangle 'round her face
A faint ripple in the fabric of time Tears asunder the invisible curtains twixt this dimension and the next.

Tinka and Sassy -- These are both brilliantly written poems! The exceptional beauty of the images are enhanced only by your delightfully dark and intriguing words. Each of you have immeasurable talent. My hat is off to both of you! I have copied the challenge words, and although now intimidated (for good reason :-), will attempt to submit an entry also. Love and Hugs, Mindy :-) |

Mindy, Thanks so much for your kind words, glad you enjoyed the poem. Everyone As I know I had a bit of writer's block and it took almost the entire week before I came up with a poem for this, I'm going to extend this challenge by one week and hopefully we'll see more entries. I already read where Mindy is hoping to participate. I look forward to reading more works for this challenge. Hugssssssssss Sassy *S* |

Flame A portal opens To another dimension Where we soar In celestial flight I know nothing But you and I tonight. Imbue midnight blue Are your eyes That see deep Inside of me. A tempest of emotion I need you And you need me. Our tongues tangle, A ripple of excitement Courses through me You sire the desire you Ignite within me. You have an amulet But there's a greater Power you weild over me Stronger than this stygian train Roaring like a lion Only you can tame In the pyre Our love dances Among the flames. I |

Dale, This is FANTASTIC! This is a bit of a thriller, a poem woven with passion, and that last line clinches it, there could be a continuation to this meeting of the lovers! *S* I wholeheartedly agree Dale, we're seeing some really awesome works produced for these challenges. I can see you almost did a 10/50 challenge. I was going to introduce that aspect after we did these for a bit. It's where you write a poem using the word list, but you must do it in exactly 50 words, not counting the title, you came sooooooooooooo close to that Dale! *S* Hugsssssssss Sassy *S* |

This is going to be a joint comment: Tinka, your responses to these challenges are so amazing as always. So elegant with word peppered full of emotion. Just the perfect picture painting You just take my breath away. Always award winning. Sassy, your entry is so soft and gentle. It is like a breath of fresh air, like spring. Yours has a magical quality too. It is indeed a fantasy. An enchanting write for sure! Dale, you have the heart of the romantic and it shows in your entry. Your poem shows the circle of life and how it never ends. You show the connection between the beings and elements. It has passion. Just superb. You blow me away. I am amazed that you all think I can hold a candle to any of you because I certainly don't think I have the same caliber that you all have. Mindy, I invite you to rise to the challenge too. Kudos to all. |
