The fact that Queen Victoria was the first member of the British royal family afflicted with hemophilia (Mark help me out here) has given rise to questions about how she developed the disease.

Her father,Edward,Duke of Kent, fourth son of George III, was not a hemophilic, nor was her husband, Prince Albert. Although Edward did not marry until after the age of 50 and his only child, Victoria, was born a year later, the advanced age of the father has sometimes affected the onset of the disease. The only other reason was that Victoria was not the daughter of Edward.

George III has nine sons, none of them seemed able to produce a legitimate heir to the throne. A number of them had as many as ten childern but they were all illegitimate. George IV had a number of misstresses and only one legitimate child a daughter Charlotte, who died in childbirth in 1817.

Upon the death of George IV his brother William, Duke of Clarence, succeeded to the throne and reigned as William IV. William had ten childern by the actress Dorothea Bland, better known by her stage name of, Mrs. Jordan. None of these could inherit the throne. In the race to produce an heir William married Princess Adelaide of Saxe-Meiningen who was half his age but the union produced only two short-lived daughters.

Edward, Duke of Kent, George III fourth son, married Princess Victoria of Saxe-Coburg-Saalfeld ,she was 32 he 51,and had a daughter Victoria. Because all the other sons of George III were unable to produce legitimate childern Victoria became heir presumptive. In the scramble to produce an heir and secure the seccession could the child Victoria have been fathered by someone else?
As stated Victoria was the first known member of the British royal family to have contracted hemophilia, her father had no signs of the illness, and the only other ways she could have gotten it were thru spontanous mutation of her genes or by being the child of a hemophilic father. Studies show that about 30% of hemophilia victims get the disease through spontanous mutation and that is what most scholars think happened with Victoria. Still, with three or four royal princes at odds with their father, and all eager to secure the royal line for themselves and their childern, nothing should be left to chance. What do you think?

I've got a book on the subject of the mysterious appearance of haemophilia in Queen Victoris's family, but I've not read it yet. From a quick glance it offers two suggestions - a mutation or her father being someone other than the Duke of Kent. I'll have to have a quick skim through it to see which conclusion it draws.

Hemophilia is passed by the Mother so who the fatherw as is irreleveant. Also I think its a case of so what does any of this do for who Queen Victoria was as a pereson and how she led the UK & empire for longer than any other British Monaarch. The world record holder is, and I stand to be corrected Franz Joesf I of the Austro-Hungarian
empire 1848-1916

You can get the disease from either your father or your mother so who he was would matter.

Females are carriers of the disease and have a 50% chance of passing it along to their sons. Males have a 100% chance of passing the disease along to their daughters

Sorry, that should be, a mother who is a carrier has a 50% chance of passing the faulty X chromosome to her daughter, while an affected father will always pass on the affected gene to his daughters. A son cannot inherit the defective gene from his father.

These royals are miscreant reprobates with no moral turpitude.   How can you monarchists "worship" them like you do?    Take a good look at the current crew with their jug ears & equine faces with the exception of the young Princes whom Diana saved with some good genes.

Ref # 10. There's a lot of confusion over who was the world's longest reigning monarch. Pharoah Pepi II is said to have reigned for 94 years, but the evidence is far from conclusive. King Minthti of the former Kingdom of Arakan, now part of Burma, is believed to have reigned for 95 years, 1279-1374, but again definate proof is lacking. In modern times the record is held by Grand Duke Karl Friedrich of Baden, 73 years 1 month, 1738-1811.

Tommy I think you are becoming a little bit confused.

If I might say "moral Turpitude" is you and your right palm's  main point of agreement, your lifelong joint venture, your self-justification for nightly co-habitation, will you now understand your expulsion from HWP site?

I'm trying to be diplomatic, w*nk*r.

An Irish daughter had not been home for over 5 years. Upon her  return,  her Father cussed her. Where have ye been all this time? Why did ye not write to us, not even a line? Why didn't ye call? Can ye not understand what ye put yer old Mother thru?

The girl, crying, replied, 'Sniff, sniff....Dad....I became a prostitute...'  Ye what!!? Out of here, ye shameless harlot! Sinner!  You're a disgrace to this Catholic family.

'OK, Dad, as ye wish. I just came back to give mum this luxurious fur coat,  title deed to a ten bedroom mansion plus a $5 million savings certificate.

For me little brother, this gold Rolex.

And for ye Daddy, the sparkling new Mercedes limited edition convertible that's parked outside plus a membership to the country club...... .................. (takes a breath).............  and an invitation for ye all to spend New Years Eve on board my new yacht in the Riviera.

'Now what was it ye said ye had become?' says Dad.  Girl, crying again, 'Sniff, sniff....a prostitute Daddy! Sniff, sniff.'

'Oh! Be Jesus! Ye scared me half to death, girl! I thought ye said a Protestant.

Come here and give yer old Dad a hug!'
