Stalking our neighbourhood at night
All alone and in the dark,
Is a beautiful cat, all black and white,
Enjoying this mouse-hunting lark.

He stalks his prey quite easily,
With no need for camouflage.
No need to hide behind a wall
Now that Darkness is at large.

Darkness plays her little game
And keeps the mice well hidden.
But the mice won't stay hidden for long
As this cat has X-ray vision!

He plays his game to perfection,
Catching the mice with zeal.
He'll sleep on a full stomach
After such a hearty meal.

Furry nice rhyme, Lynn! I had a cat when I was wee. She was extremely fat, but an excellent mouser. We'd often discover a loving left half eaten "present" by the back door in the morning.

Hi Stella,

I love cats, dogs, birds and spiders...
... although I'm definitely more of a "spider" girl.

Hi Jen,

He'd better not start hunting for my pet mouse. I'll squash him with this deadly chocolate cake if he does!

Enjoyed the read, Lynn, but not the thought, I don't like that aspect of cat's either, even if it is natural for them
it isn't for me, and....

lol at Stella's Spider Girl,
