As a mom of two (currently fighting ) kids I offer my humble opinion as to why Mother's Day is in May. It's almost time for school to let out. Kids will be home all summer long. Having Mother's Day in May gives us moms something to consider when we need to dig deep in our reserves of loving patience during the summer months. When the kids have begun whining "mommmm, I'm bored. It's hot. There's nothing to do!" (usually way before Independence Day) we can gaze upon the beautiful hand-drawn cards and remember that yes, indeed, we do love our kids, and they love us too. Really they do. |
