On your keyboard you probably have a key located between the CTRL and ALT keys that looks like a windows logo. If you tap that and the letter E at the same time it opens up "my computer". Many times I have been able to unfreeze my computer without losing information and having to reboot by going in there to the program that is causing the problem (or to extra running programs that may be overloading the system causing the freeze) and closing it. |

Ok using that same button to hold down, if you press r with it, the run window will come up. If you press D with it you will go straight to your desktop. If you press F with it you get your file search window. Someone stop me. :>) If you press it with ....uh oh....zzzzztttt phhhht...crackle... zap!!!!!!............................... THANKS SUNNYDAZE.I HAVE BEEN HAVING TO TURN THE JUICE OFF AND WAITING FOR THE PUTER TO CHECK FOR DAMAGE BEFORE I COULD GO ON.USUALLY LOSING WHAT I WAS DOING.I'M PRINTING ALL THE TIPS AND MAKING A COLLAGE ON MY WALL BY THE PUTER SO THE KIDS AND I CAN REFER TO THE PROBLEM SOLVERS. DO YOU KNOW HOW TO GET BACK ON THE ORIGINAL DESKTOP? MINE KEEPS COMMING UP SELECTIVE STARTUP FOR TROUBLESHOOTING MY SYSTEM.IT DON'T KNOW HOW MUCH TROUBLE I CAN CAUSE THE #$%^ THING! HEY PUTERPLAYER... I can tell you about the Safe mode...is it still that way, or have you selectied to not show this screen box again? Depending on the program you use it can be easy, or really easy to go into msconfig and check your startup settings. If you are unsure what to do there I would not do anything at all...and pay someone $20 to look into it for you, or have someone go through it with you on the phone...(I just couldn't let this go unanswered anylonger..) ~Verbie |
