In the old Aristophanes play Lysistrata, Greek women encourage the ending of constand warfare by withholding their husbands sex with them until they stop.  It's a funny comedy.
 
Now there is a new version of this taking place in real life in Italy:  women promise to deny their husbands or boyfriends sex if they shoot off fireworks.

What's the problem with a little noise?  I know some people get injured; but it's because they do stupid things with fireworks rather than because fireworks are inherently dangerous.
