After all the groups are gone people will be dispersed to seperate forums around the 'net.  Community Feedback has long been a useful site for MSN related information and also for computer and internet related issues.  They made a backup community a long time ago so that people could get in contact during MSN's many outages.  That community will continue on.  It is now called Community Feedback (oddly enough).

One thing that worries me about all of this is we have no way to know for sure how long the places we move to will last, how much warning there will be if one closes, how people will be able to find each other.  I know that the new CF is creating and maintaining a list of where people have gone.  Even better, they will be around after MSN is gone.  I think it is a good idea for people to join there, or at least bookmark the site, to ensure that one way or another people can locate each other in case something happens.

Community Feedback has done good work helping people.  They have kept lists of safe downloads, have always been around to help people track down and cleanse malware that has installed on computers, have taught people how to maintain their computers as well as how to build and maintain their sites.  And it is all volunteer.

CF should be able to help in the relocation process.  Especially with the occasional posters.  I hope everyone makes the transition okay.

Judie, if I may interject here:  The change applies to Groups only.  Hotmail, or some form of it, is going to continue.  As a matter of fact, you need to have some kind of email address to join Aimoo or Multiply or other group providers.

That's right. Hotmail will continue on. I think it is already converting to Windows Live format. I think the Hotmail name continues on, though if it doesn't I am sure that MSN will ensure that any change is as seamless as they can make it.

Probably it will be as seamless as a gunny sack.

Groups and people are already scattered to different sites. It will be hard to keep track of everyone. I am gone to Yuku but I also have an account on Aimoo. This is so frustrating as this is the second time I loose ground.

You will like aimoo once you get used to it...seems like a good new place to call home. :>) Setting up migration tomorrow may take a week or so ....there will be extra pages appearing on the side tool bar they are just hidden ones being unhidden. All will be well. Will be sending site wide announcement and posting here when it is time to make move :>)
