I had my MRI yesterday and got the results today. Everything looks normal, so that confirms my ophthalmologist's diagnosis of SOM. Thanks to everyone who gave me reassurance last week when I was worried it would turn out to be something more serious. Meanwhile, the SSRI I started has begun to kick in, and not only am I less anxious, but my eye isn't twitching nearly as much.

Not that we should have a "congratulations" party for someone diagnosed with SOM, but it must be a huge load lifted for you to have had a good MRI.  I surely was relieved when mine showed everything to be normal.  (I think the "Verbal Expression" lobe was probably enlarged, but nobody noticed.)  It seems about a 50-50 split around here as to whether anxiety is a trigger for wonking, so maybe you will just do better on your SSRI.  I'm glad to hear you're feeling better.     Annie
