If you have been diagnosed with superior oblique myokymia, here is where you will find directions to help you to join our site.

You will want to know, before you begin, that you need to use a valid e-mail address when you apply for membership in our support group.
Within a day or so (usually within hours) of making your application, one of our management team will send you a message to which you need to reply.
This first message establishes that you have a valid e-mail address.
Your reply to this first message establishes that you have SOM.

If your e-mail address fails, we cannot accept your application,
because there is not any way for us to contact you.
If you do not answer that first message that we send to you,
we cannot accept your application.

  • So, please make sure that you type your e-mail address correctly.

  • Please make sure that you use an e-mail account that you check regularly.

  • Please make sure that you reply to our first message to you.
  •

The link to join is on the upper, left-hand portion of the menu.

If you already have an MSN Passport (an e-mail address that ends in
@msn.com or @hotmail.com), use link #1.

If you do not yet have an MSN Passport, use link #2.

If you have chosen link #2, follow the instructions to
obtain your MSN Passport.

If you have chosen link #1, you will see a smaller pop-up window appear.  Type your e-mail address and password in the appropriate spaces.  Then click on "OK."

You will be taken to the "Join" page.  You may keep your Passport
e-mail address in the e-mail space, or you may
change it to whatever e-mail you want to use as your contact e-mail (#1).

Make sure that there is not a check mark in the space #2.

It is recommended that you read our group's messages on our site,
"On the Web:".

If you choose to have the messages sent to your e-mail address,
individually or daily, make sure that
you do not reply from those e-mails.
Always go to our site to post a reply or to begin a new thread

Take time to let us know why you want to join our support group.

Make sure that you accept the Code of Conduct,
and then click on "Join."

You will then be see a screen that confirms your application.

We make every effort to respond to each application in a timely manner, usually within a day or two.  However, the MSN notification system is erratic at best, and we may not receive notice of your application right away.  Please do not be unduly concerned if you do not hear from us for a few days.  You will receive an e-mail from us.  Please respond to that message.
