I was prescribed "APO-TIMOP - Timolol Maleate Ophthalmic Solution 0.5%" in May 2008. I take one drop a day. My neuro-opthal doctor admitted that this medication has only been successful about 25 per cent of the time.

I honestly don't know if it helps.

Please include:

1. When did you begin taking this med? May 2008

2. What was your beginning dosage (amount and number of times a day)? Was and still is one drop a day.

3. How was your dosage increased, and to what levels? No.

4. How has this med helped/benefited you (please be specific)? I'm honestly not sure, but only three months on it may not be enough to really tell yet.

5. What side effects are you having/did you have (please be specific)? No that I know of.

6. How long have you/did you take this med? Still on it.

7. If you have stopped taking this med, why did you stop? No, but I do forget probably twice a week.

8. Your thoughts about your experience with this med. It's like the meds for coldsores, I only seem to need it when it's too late. I'll have to give it at least six months to really tell.

Phil

Funny, I use timolol gfs (gel forming solution) for my glaucoma.  I never noticed or thought that it may indeed have a bearing on my som episodes.  However, since I have been on this one (along with my xalatan), now that someone mentions it, I have had less problems.
