To "copy and paste" the list of information questions (which is below these instructions, between the green lines):

  1. Put your cursor at the  smiley face , which is at the lower-left hand corner of the list of questions.
  2. Then left-click your mouse and drag it to the upper left-hand edge of the list, at the star
  3. While those parts of the information are highlighted (light text, dark background), right-click your mouse and when the menu pops up, left-click on "Copy." 
  4. Then hit reply (in your thread's first message) and when that page loads, left-click your mouse, putting your cursor in the message space of the reply box, and left-click on the paste image in the menu of the reply box.  It is the third icon from the left, on the top row, and looks like a little clipboard with a small page on it. 
  5. You have now transferred the list to the reply box.  All that you have to do now is to left-click your mouse at the end of each line of the list and type in your information.

When my SOM symptoms began: 1994 ???
 
When diagnosed: 1994
 
Type of doctor: pediatric opthalmologist
 
SOM eye - Right or Left: right eye
 
My symptoms: eye just started jumping in my head while reading a magazine....symptoms were that severe for 1 year straight.  Do have slight episodes from time to time, quivering mostly, occasionally full blown for a few days.
 
Symptom triggers, if any: stress, lack of sleep, stiff neck, bright light (flourescent mainly).
 
Wear glasses? What type/kind: yes.  no line bifocals.
 
Is SOM eye weaker or stronger than "good" eye?: right now, stronger as I have glaucoma and a blind spot in my left eye. 
 
Treatments for SOM: Prescription meds: Yes or No: yes
Med name, dosage, how long, results 1.  clonazepam, a few weeks, caused extreme headaches
Med name, dosage, how long, results 2. tofranil, about a week, allergic reaction 
Med name, dosage, how long, results 3.  diazepam, 1/2 tab at bedtime for a week, symptoms disappeared. (after a year)
Med name, dosage, how long, results 4. combo...neurontin 300 mg twice daily, lorazepam 1 mg at bedtime as needed.  works ok.
 
Herbs. Legal only. List all:  tried bilberry
Herbs. How much, how long, results:  took it off and on for about 6 months, no effect
Herbs. Where obtained: herbal/natural/vitamin section at some drug store.

Accupuncture.  Type: ouch...no.
Accupuncture. How long, results:

Massage.  Type: yes, at the chiro. part of my adjustment
Massage.  How long, results: long time, it may not work, but it feels great!

Chiropractic. Method/type:  Yes.....neck and back adjustment.  In particular the neck.
Chiropractic. How long, results:  Years, it works fairly well. 
 
 
Surgery.  Type:  N/A
Surgery.  Results:
  
 
Other conditions I have: Seasonal allergies, anxiety, glaucoma, restless leg syndrome, arthritis, migraines
Symptoms. How long. 1. allergies since 1988
Symptoms. How long. 2. anxiety, just since my marriage in 1990 (coincidence?) got rid of him, anxiety still here.
Symptoms. How long. 3. glaucoma diagnosed in 2004 or 2005, intraocular hypertension for years prior.
Symptoms. How long. 4. rls about 4 years.
Symptoms. How long. 5.arthritis for a long time, I don't even know.  have it in my knees and back.
Symptoms. How long. 6. migraines of some sort since I was 7
  
Possible connection(s) to SOM:  no clue. 
  
Current SOM status: remission, but with a little quivering.
  
Current age: 48 yrs.
Gender: female
  
Additional thoughts: Anyone who says this is just a "minor inconvenience" that we need to learn to live with is full of whooey. 
  
How I found this support group:  While looking for the old one sompeople....
