aha! I have once again emerged from the dusty depths of darkness and dreams... I really should vacuum once in a while :D
But seriously, tis Phil, your humble former admin and twice lost fellow eye jiggler. I've returned again with better news than last we met, a better life and happier times.
The Lowdown..
The Gal: I've dated the same gal for 2 years now, and she's been so great to me. She's made me happier than ever and really has supported all ventures I've pursued. She has a little boy who's beyond awesome, and quite easy to call my own (though not officially).
The Dog: Tango is doing great! Instantly spoiled by anyone that comes within 100 feet, he has finally (after 6 years) learned how to fetch, and essentially be a real dog! Such a finicky bath hating dog, turns out he doesn't mind trudging through belly deep water and mud to retrieve a ball from a flooded back yard :D It all started when I took him fishing for the first time, he shocked us all by hopping IN the water to chase a fish I was reeling in! Thinking it was a fluke, of course, I had to stay till I caught another, which he also happily greeted on it's journey ashore ;)
The Job: Yep, got a new job (almost a year ago).. I'm now a Deputy Sheriff. Sharpshooting and High Speed driving, a life of thrills for me! I absolutely love this job and the Office I work for is bar-none the best organization I've ever been a part of.
The Site: Sompeople.com as we once knew it, is forever gone. As many knew, the site itself was hacked by some misguided arabian kid that felt that we som'ers needed to be more aware of the atrocity's oversea's... well, teh exploit used didn't destroy the database, but I was never able to repair it myself. TO further worsen matters, my host, whom I thought had a colocation solution (a private computer in a datacenter).. well, turns out he was leasing a hosting service.. it stopped being profitable, he shut it down, ALL data was lost (including a lot of personal stuff). I was unsuccessful at contacting the company to beg for a recovery. So! Now I've re-registered sompeople.com again, and this time pointed it here. So if you want to simplify sharing the love of som with others, simply give'em the link sompeople.com. This changes nothing with the site itself, just adds another means to get here. Still great work juds!
The Eye: I've cut Caffiene to maybe 1/5 it's former level.. stopped smoking again (going on 2 years!) eating a lot better, and really enjoying my love and job.. I think this combo has done much greater good than any medication ever could. Early morning/late night I still see micro-torsions when I stare off into nothing, and if I ever stop to look for it, I can easily see faint symptoms. But overall, I rarely ever notice symptoms anymore. I think I've adapted to such an extent that it's simply a non-issue. I will point out that I've discovered what's known as floaters, and they have me more concerned than anything else. but, like the rest, in focus I see no ill effects. I literally have to defocus to see them.
The End: Just the post, hopefully not of my visits. Rest assured, I've read along all these years, just not as often as I wanted. hope you all are doing well. |

Nice to hear from you again, and if we're lucky you'll manage to hang on to your info so that you can log in once in a while!!! It is also nice to hear of your current remission state. Without it your new and wonderful job simply wouldn't have been possible. It is always the best to hear of happy endings like this. Ditto for the relationship. Tango's pic is adorable. We will always manage to hang together. This MSN site isn't going anywhere, and in addition to the .com domain name that you hold, we also own the .org and .net ones. Plus we have a channeling presence on Google, Yahoo and Aol, as well as quite of few of the blogging and networking sites and concerns. There are lots of ways for people to stumble across us, but most still come to us via a search on Google. Keep in touch and I hope that you're willing to share some of your prime-time adventures!!! |
