The Miccosukee Indian village was born out of pride, love and commitment of a single family to provide a place for to call their home. As a result of this commitment, the tribe has recreated the village, as it was in the past to let visitors experience the real village style living, today the village belongs to all the Miccosukee people. Chief Buffalo Tiger, “this land we call the Everglades for Miccosukees, is our survival land and now we would like to invite the non-Indian public to come and enjoy our homelands with the respect of nature as directed to us by the “Breath Maker.�?/P>
Visit the official and only Miccosukee Indian Village and Airboat tours and let our guides take you on a journey through the past, present, and future of our history, culture and lifestyle. In our living village, see alligator demonstrations and exhibits of woodcarving, patchwork, beadwork, basket weaving and doll making. Native American arts and crafts, shopping and dining at the Miccosukee restaurant also available. Also Miccosukee Resort and Gaming center is only minutes away for overnight accommodations.
Note-The Miccosukee Tribe of Indians of Florida (Miami/Dade County) is one of the two Florida Federal/State reorganized Tribes that escaped the deportation of Andrew Jackson’s removal Act in the 1800’s. They now number approximately 500 members
