On this day in 1935, Cherokee celebrity Will Rogers died in a plane crash near Barrow, Alaska.  Rogers was on a trip with famed aviator Wiley Post when their plane crashed.  An Inupiaq Eskimo from Barrow was first on scene and ran several miles to get help.
