What would you all reccomend as the best one rifle capable of  hunting all three Mose, deer, elk?
I have been told its the 30-06. Just want to make sure.

We own property in northern Utah where the Moose are easily within 50 yards. I thought a 300 mag would be way to big for a deer, but there are those guys like you mentioned that say no the bigger the better. What would you reccomend as far as manufacturer and what not in the 30-06. Mose LOL my bad cant type very well.

I would recommend the 300 Win.Mag. You have enough power for the short & long shot, and also if that griz shows up, you can take care of him also.

Where I come from(Alberta, Can.),  that's the right tool for the job. We have plenty of those critters up here.

303 Brit! Add the grains of bullet weight, multiply by times used in Canada by canucks that are broke and subtract a lot of money, you have a moose killing, whitetail stomping, long range, cheap assed way to hunt!

Depends on where you are. You cannot get .303 British ammo in S. Georgia unless you are in a big city and got to a major hunting supply store. You can get .30-06 in any hardware store.

I'd probably go with a Savage 110 or one of the new Mossberg ATR rifles.  Some guys will say Remingtons, or Winchesters.  I say why spend an arm and a leg on a rifle, when you can just spend one arm and it works just as well, lol.  The new Mossbergs get good reviews from the gun mags, and are supposed to shoot MOA with good factory ammo.  I can't speak for the centerfires, but my little Plinkster 22 is a great shooting little rifle.

Carry the most powerful rifle you can be accurate with. If it's an 06 then more power too ya.

30.06 is the most versatile and ammo is readily available. You can load everything from a 100gn bullet to 220gn. I personally use a 270 ruger for all my deer and elk.

I'm probably going to have to say the 270WSM because;  There is alot of versatility in this cartridge.  There is a little less width in the cartrige than the 30-06(which would be my second choice)  so there might be less tissue damage than you might get on say a deer with your 30-06.  Then there is the kinetic energy.  There is higher velocity achieved with this cartrige with the same weight of bullet and less diameter so there is going to be more initial energy and also alot more energy preserved further down range which gives you less drop, and a good bit less drop at especialy at ranges out to 500 yards.  I believe that could possibly make it a good bit more versitile than the 30-06 because the faster bullet opens up alot more room for varmiting apps. The only down side I have seen from this cartridge is that there is alot less ammo variations to choose from.  But other than that I would be very comfortable going out it the field to hunt just about anything.  As for grizzley, you are probably just going to have to get a separate rifle because I dont think that there is a caliber that would be sufise for a grizzley that I would also redily shoot a deer with.  If I were to go after grizzley I would probably take something like the 338 which I believe would be a little more humane none the less safer on your end-plus a back up pistol like a 454 and something close.  Well thats my $0.02

The .06 is my all time favorite.I have two model 70s [Winchester] ,one standard and one fetherlite also. two Garrands and two 1903 Springfields one 03, and one03A3 and a 1917 Remington in .06 You might even say I'm a bit OCP about the 30.06

My next rifle is going to be a Mossberg ATR in .30-06, mainly because I have "enough" .308s and want something different, lol.  But seriously, the good old -06 is enough gun for pretty much any game you can hunt in the US.  I've heard it said that the .308 can do almost anything the -06 can, but the bigger case gives the .30-06 an edge over it's little cousin.

30.06 is usually easy to find ammo for and can handle any native species in the lower 48 states. I have no experience with big bears, but as they might want to eat you I will agree bigger is probably better.
