Hi, Everyone: It's very nice to be here in this group! I'm a 61 years old female. I don't like to say 61 years "old"! My heart is young, and that's what matters. Age is just a number. I live in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia, such a beautiful place! I was born and raised in Connecticut, taught elementary school for 11 years there, and then moved to Virginia. I absolutely loved teaching the children, but unfortunately, never got back to teaching school. One reason is that I didn't apply for a teaching job before moving, and another is that I just didn't speak with the right people, probably. After doing a few years of substitute teaching, I had to quit due to a walking disability. I love animals! While living at home in CT, we always had cats around, one or 2. Then when I got out on my own, that continued, even up to 3 cats at a time --- and they lived inside with me! They had plenty of time to play outside, too. Later on, I acquired 4 dogs, one at a time, and at one point, there were 3 cats and 3 dogs living under the same roof with me!! Right now, I have none, but plan on getting a cat after my trip to visit a friend in Florida this Summer. Pets add soooo much to one's life! I love Nature, the ocean, reading, painting and drawing pictures, and more. I never married, but haven't given up hope for that yet!! I'm very good freinds with a Native American, and I believe he's the one!! Even as a child, I had a special love for the Native Americans. It's great that finally this country is beginning to learn the truth about Native Americans. We are finally learning of their loving spirit and their deep knowledge of Nature. I'm looking forward to meeting with you in this group! Love and peace. Janna |

Hi Janna, It is good to meet you. I am 60 so I agree that if you are young at heart, then you are not old. I hope you will enjoy it here and will make many friends. We live closer to the southeastern part of Virginia, but have always wanted to go to the Shenandoah Valley to see it, my great great Cherokee grandmother was born there. Make yourself at home, it is good to have you here. Love in Light and Peace, Winds of Change |
