Hi Everyone, I hope you are all having a great weekend. It is sunny here and not too hot, but a little extra warm for me right now. lol I am going out after while to plant some more flowers. Phoenix and I have been working to get the yard flowers and flower boxes filled and pretty, but it sure is slow going. lol We are both feeling the effects of age and our being out of shape after all of the Winter illnesses. I hope all of you are enjoying time in the sun or out of it, but just enjoying fresh air after heating air all Winter. Thank you to those of you who post here. I am thankful for you since I have been rather incapacitated in being able to come up with things to post lately. Hopefully the sunshine will bring better mind moods. lol Hugs to all of you and enjoy your weekend. Love in Light and Peace, Winds of Change |

Hi, Winds of Change and Everyone: It's very nice to be here in this group! Here, in Virginia, we've been having a lot of rain and cloudy days. It's the nice rain, though, -- not too hard, and the kind that can be absorbed into the ground. What a blessing! So, the sun hasn't had a chance to shine here much lately, but it will get its turn soon! I, too, am glad that Spring is finally here! The grass is a rich green and the dear little birds are busy singing for us every day and making their nests. I hope to spend more time in the sun. Staying inside too much isn't good for many reasons. Love and peace, Blue_skies |

Hi Lee, Blue Skies and everyone, Its good to hear from you Lee and Blue Skies. We have had more sunshine lately. We had lots of rain and tornadoes passed through Virginia, but missed us. One that didn't do too much damage was not too far from us. We were kind of in between most of them. Keep everyone in your prayers who lost homes in storms, lost loved ones and were injured. Pray for everyone please who have had problems after storms (tornadoes) and earthquakes and everything else that is going on. I kept expecting rain over the weekend and didn't water things, so tonight I have to go water all of the roses and flowers in the yard..lol April was this site's 7th anniversary and I didn't remember to post and let you know. I hope all is well with all of you and if they are not then know you are in my prayers. Love in Light and Peace, Winds of Change |

Hi, Winds of Change: I'm so glad that you weren't hurt during those tornadoes! Yes, prayers will help those who were affected. It's the least that we can do. In the past 10 years that I've lived in this area of VA, we've had no tornadoes, but there was one hurricane (Fran) several years ago. It is a blessing to be spared the agony of such disasters. We've had a fair amount of rain recently. It was mostly the gentle rain, so it didn't ruin my tulips as in previous years when they were destroyed by the first spring rain! This year, the tulips lasted thru the first 3 or 4 rain storms we had, but were weakened with each rain. But, the last storm finished them off! It was so nice that they lasted as long as they did! Now, it looks kind of funny to see just the leaves and stems with no flowers! Hopefully, it wont rain too much just after you water your flowers! Love, jtblue_skies |

Hi Jtblue_skies, I was used to tornadoes being around in Illinois when I came here to VA 8 years ago, but had never been near or in a hurricane, until a few years ago when hurricane Isabel went through this area and took down the whole power grid and did much damage. I was amazed. We watched out our front door (which is not recommended) while we were encouraging the very old magnolia trees while they fought to not lose branches in that wind. I thought it was amazing to see, but wouldn't like to see that very often. It was so humid and hot afterwards. It still has not rained, but our yard is doing great. I had planted carnations last summer, but the drought and heat kept them from blooming, but this year they are full of blooms and all of the rosebushes are beautiful and covered with roses of all colors. The annual flowers we put in this Spring are doing well and starting to spread out and look strong. I love Spring and this year it is a wonderful one here, not as hot as last year and the rains have been very nice, but sometimes pretty hard, but the flowers are loving it.
