Life is a lesson
A lesson of how to see the sunshine
When it seems darkness will not fade
A lesson in how to see that tiny bit of good
In things which seem to be all bad
A lesson in letting love wash over all
That hurts and maims
A lesson in how to find hope
Even when everything has been taken away
A lesson in reaching out a helping hand
When there seems to be nothing left to give
A lesson of seeing rainbows
When there seems to be no color left
A lesson in smiling
When there is no smile to be found
A lesson in finding brightness
In everything, no matter how small
A lesson in giving love
Just for the sake of offering it
Life is a lesson
