The flames of a lifetime of candles

Ablaze in the ebony sky

 

Dancing to the music

Of Universal Soul

 

Each step

To an inner beat

Of the One

And yet apart

 

 Touching softly

Warming gently

 

Rising together

Sharing the light

 

Then flickering

And falling apart

 

Imprinted in memory

A touch of heart

 

Relentless this movement

This seeking of path

 

Flames moving ever upward

Entwined in the dance of life

 

Yet each one burning brightly

Alone and apart
