Spirit My spirit is soaring like the owl at night, silent, searching and watching me from above. Protecting me, guiding me. I feel my spirit rise and fall with the wind. Silent strength, sharp talons and a hunger that won't be denied is testimony to hes wisdom. Without wisdom, life would end, without strength, famine would prevail. Without sight predation would occur, without silense all would be detected and destroyed. Without spirit, all would be dead. Befriend the spirit and learn the lessons, feel the omnipotence and grandeur of living. Test the endurance of the body, listen to the silence for the whisper of life. See the beauty of the land and living. Seek the wisdom of experience. Soar with the spirit, run with it, swim in its oceans and sleep in its cradles above the land and under the sky. Taste of the earth and the salt of the seas. Breathe of the sweet nectar of life and return to life the spirits taken so more will be here tomorrow. Take only the old, sick, slow and injured leaving the strong, fast and healthy to survive. Release all the spirits so they may return and replenish. These are the laws humans should live by to insure tomorrow. Love the Light, Humma Waquesi

The Aftermath by Gloria J. Acord Teardrops have fallen Smoke is clearing Ashes sifted through And slowly lifeforces Are stirring slightly Hope dances on the horizon But it sparkles in the distance As hearts and minds Move toward the glimmer Promising sweet relief From the depths of shock And sadness Recapturing the zest Which faded with the force Of untrue actions Laying low the spirits of many In the waste lack of compassion For those left in the aftermath Of the betrayed Under the guise of friendship Torn asunder with the departure Of all that is never done in love But in the hearts which hurt And cramp within The broken confines of the human form Stirring in the ashes Is a sadness for those Who will never know the warmth Of a friends love wrapping Around their spirits and soothing All that befalls and wounds As life takes its tolls with those Who know not how to love. But those laid so low Will still bear the pain Of hurting for the betrayers Who live in the coldness Barren of knowledge Which makes the sun shine bright And warms the hearts Of those who still see hope In all things and reap the rewards Given because there is no condemnation In Love.

Life is a Lesson by Gloria J. Acord Life is a lesson A lesson of how to see the sunshine When it seems darkness will not fade A lesson in how to see that tiny bit of good In things which seem to be all bad A lesson in letting love wash over all That hurts and maims A lesson in how to find hope Even when everything has been taken away A lesson in reaching out a helping hand When there seems to be nothing left to give A lesson of seeing rainbows When there seems to be no color left A lesson in smiling When there is no smile to be found A lesson in finding brightness In everything, no matter how small A lesson in giving love Just for the sake of offering it Life is a lesson footnote: these two poems were written after an event which cost jobs for people. copyright for both - October, 2000 by Gloria J. Seek to Fly This is it I have seen I have known I am free This is life This is love This is soul Fly with me Many times I sought to be What oft alluded me. Wanted to be something other than just me And I found there was naught in what others seemed to see Yet I felt there was something that I was supposed to be The light shone upon me His hand touched my soul The wisdom of ages Has made me quite whole You are as you are You are precious to He Your gifts are unique And your soul must be free Seek within Be so still Be calm and be peaceful Allow yourself fill Then fly gentle soul Spread your wings to the sky Let your love shine forever An Angel's sweet sigh Rise with joy Sing with love Find your place Seek to fly Freespirit

A Phoenix rising from the flames A gentle breeze called Winds of Change Together now and none shall part Two now one a beating heart The word a feeling a pledge a vow The answer yes, the question Do thou This day a day for happiness That two friends are to be so blessed In spirit your friends we will be there For the two of you we do care We hope for you a path of bliss Sealed when he says you may kiss The bride a beauty The groom so smart Together now and so you start A life of marriage your feelings shared Partners now forever paired Too the pair of you, I know I do not know you well but I do wish the both of you as much happiness as you can stand and then a bit more, and I am sure, no positive that I speak for all the members of this group when I say that. I know that we all would have loved to be with you and shared your special day, but failing that we will be there in spirit and wish you the best of everything. Your friend Pete, Oh and the rest as well, LOL I hope that Pete does not mind that I am sharing this poem with all of you that he wrote for me and Phoenix on railfans site for our marriage. Thank you so much Pete. You write wonderful poems. Winds of Change

I Despair So Cain killed Abel And so it begun Now some men take the right To kill another mans son When will this end When will they learn Will they accept their sons death When it comes to their turn All men have the right to die For what they believe But not the right to kill And make another man grieve If you want to die for a cause To show that you care Then die like the boy Under the tank in Tienanmen Square Don't kill a mans child And expect him to forgive Because he'd lay down his life To allow them to live So where does it get them All this blood and the hate It gets their sons killed As in our grief we retaliate And so the circle whole It never does end As they kill and we die And we war without end They wave their fine flags Their gods and their hate And the innocent die Because such is their fate Woman or man Girl or boy When will they see A life isn't a toy I grieve and I weep In the depths of despair How can they kill Without even a care You murder our sons Leaving just weeping mothers Isn't it time that you learned That all men are brothers by Pete

In The Beginning By Phoenix (copyright 1/24/2003) What awesome sight to fill the sky, What blinding light did meet the eye; When from nothing came all to be, When from darkness, light to see; Where timeless ages humbly bowed, Where forever became here and now; How empty silence awoke to sound, How lifeless, sprung with life abound; Why from nothing did all come to be, Why do we question and cannot see.

Our Park Hill Memories on us of days gone by, sitting on our park hill, gazing upon the wonderous blue sky. Our eyes amazed at what beauty so high. From wings of the birds, a refreshing breeze slipping so softly thru the grass & the trees. In silence you and I, knowing all that we've shared, our Glorious Creator, who loves us, put it all there. So find us a park hill as beautiful as the other, and I'll meet you one day, in our home of forever. ~Dearheart~

DREAMS OF THE NIGHT Darkness of the night our dreams come We have our freedom as we enter the dream realm We have guides that begin to help us as we enter the dream realm The messages we receive when in the dreams we have in the night will stay with those Part of the dream realm is plesant Part of it is a nightmare The dream realm will exist forever Can you fathom the fact that dreams are real just another realm Who can say we r here when the body sleeps We will be together as we are guided through our dreams of the night The dream realm we have complete freedom to go in any direction in the dream realm We should have empathy for those that head into the nightmare part of the dream realm There are so many lovely places to go Why would anyone want enter the darkest words in the dream realm? The Sea of Humanity As the evening sun sets gently And the blue Sea turns to gold In the still, sun-warmed air Stirs a breeze fresh and cold Come the darkness Bring the night Storm clouds gather Block the light And I look into the water It confirms my deepest fears For there is the blood of my brothers Washed in my sisters' tears And I hear the voices rising On the moonbeams high above The spirit of all nations Arms enfolding - sending love For this - our darkest moment Has pierced our heart as one So join our hands together Never from the darkness run With courage and in friendship Let us greet the rising sun.
