Hello Room of Light,
This board is for you to post your questions and suggestions for Lessons.  We will take the questions in order and the one who is led to construct a lesson will do so.  We will try to get the lessons prepared as soon as possible and will post them on a Lesson page.  Discussions will take place after you view the lessons for a certain amount of days.  I will let you know what we decide on this soon.
I hope everyone joins in and asks what you want to know and also if you have suggestions of topics which interest you.

Love, Light and Peace,
Winds of Change

WInds:  What a good idea to have a place for lessons, questions, and hopefully discussions of things of interest to each..and all.  As you know my problem seems to be a clearing of the mind, the ability to meditate and shut down the conscious mind.  I still try the River , but the mind wanders.  I pray trying to quiet down, but alas the mind roams as fleeting as a butterfly.  Any suggestions, or is this indeed another lesson of learning patience?  Any ideas would be appreciated.  In love and light, Enigma

Dear Enigma,

I use a "guided meditation" and it's successful. You can purchase a meditation tape from a book store.  I had stated in an older message "Journeys into Past Lives" by Denise Linn is very, very helpful for me. MIght want to try that.

Love & light, Dearheart

Hello Enigma,

I hope your retreat from it all, helped.  You are no different than anyone else, we all have those times that seem too dark for us and we feel as if we'll never crawl out of it.  But We Do!  and we come out of it with more Knowledge than we went into it with.  This is what it means when it is said and felt that "when you are in the darkness, You Are closest to The Light" (to me anyway).  I hope you learned and evolved well from your darkness, for You Are Truely Light!

Love To You,

Connie/Onesoul13

Hello Enigma,

This was the way my mind has always been, thought it was impossible to quiet it.... ever!  While taking an Angel class the teacher led us through a
short meditation which now seems so simple, at the time I thought there is no way this is going to work.  We all closed our eyes and were to picture a plain old pencil, yep, that is it, we were told to look at its length, to picture which color our pencil was, we were to be creative or use a plain ordinary one like the one we used in school, we had to picture the led, smell the pencil and eraser, etc, etc... by the time we were finished I was a true believer, it was the first time I could ever remember being able to stop all the mind-chatter and focus on one thing.  Our homework for that week was to re-create that exercise each day, by the time I went back it was so much easier and things only improved for me from there.  I was also thinking tonight as I read your note that even turning out all the lights in a room except for one burning candle might also be a neat way to do this, I will try it this week.  Remember, just one step at a time, my hubby calls this "baby steps".

Lots of Peace of mind, Love and Light to you.  =)
Chatty

Dear Enigma

Maybe you should bring up this discussion at the Wednesday night chat sessions; not that windofchange cannot answer your questions about clearing the mind but maybe others have suggestions on clearing the mind also that may be of help to you and others, like myself in perticular.

love, light and peace be with you!

Dear Members,
This board is for your questions and for discussions by the members of the questions.  It did not seem to work for lessons which could be put on pages for you to read, so I think it would be better served for you to post your questions and a discussion take place to answer the questions.  I am looking forward to seeing what you want to know and how our members respond.  Ask those questions and also give suggestions here for things you want to see here.

Winds of Change

I know I'm, like, way late on this thread, but I'm still trying to 'catch up' on stuff here. I just wanted to make a comment here. Chatty, that particular type of meditation is refered to by some as "Mindfulness Meditation" and is the very kind that I use each day as part of my 'pain managment'. In this type of meditation, you don't "block out everything" but rather focus on one particular thing, blocking out everything else. When I do this in conjunction with my condition, I focus on the area of pain. I visualize the physical area and the source of the inflamation, like you did with the pencil. The real trick is to use your mind in concert with your bodies natural pain killer, endorphins, and literally alter the amount of inflamation to reduce the level of pain. It took me awhile to achieve this, but after years of practice, it comes second nature to me now. This method of meditation was introduced into the 'mainstream' at the University of Massachusetts Medical Center by Jon Kabat-Zinn and he has two great books on the subject; Full Catastrophe Living, which deals with using the wisdom of your body and mind to face stress, pain and illness and Wherever You Go There You Are which teaches mindfulness meditation in 'everyday life'. Try them, you'll like them .

Hi Diana,
You are welcome.  I know what you mean when you say you stress yourself.  Many people do that without realizing it.  That helps that you recognize you do it alot to yourself.   I hope that you will be able to change that.  Stress is very hard on the body and the immune system.  Will be looking forward to getting to know you.  Maybe you can relax here and ease your stress.

Love in Light and Peace,
Winds of Change
