Cook onion in margarine or butter in a medium saucepan for 1 minute.
Stir in the rice, cook and stir for 1 minute.
Add chicken broth, water and seasonings, bring to boiling. Reduce heat.
Simmer, covered, 15 minutes. Stir in thawed peas and almonds.
Remove from heat, cover and let rice mixture stand for 5 minutes.
