Hi All, 'Tis a new year and so a new front porch message line is in order..LOL.
It has been some time since I waddled my way up Wind's path to the front porch and what a welcome sight to see all of you resting and enjoying yourselves here.
Our grand babies are growing so fast. The youngest is 19 months and what a treasure she is. Reckon I had forgotten how much little ones learn in those first couple of years. She'll be talking for real one of these days and then no body will be able to shut her up...hehehehe... you know, saying things that are maybe best left unsaid?.... The oldest will be 5 in a couple of months and has shown signs of actually being calm and saying things that make sense.. LOL. .... she can color in the lines...hehehehe. We enjoy having the younguns' around. It's a learning process for us as well and really make us think..'kids really can do those things at that age'??... LOL and granny here, has to cover her mouth for the laughter that always seems to come when they are around. God love them. And yes, granny will forfeit being late for work if it means there is one more hug or smooch from the little ones.
Our weather in my little neck of the woods has been not winter-like. If we had rain, the grass would grow I am sure. But, we are promised some snow this weekend. My heart goes out to those who had more snow than wanted. I fear we may have a drought summer if we do not get the snow coverage or the spring rains here.
Our ghosts that dwell with us show themselves now and again. Sometimes a little too much.... like things moving... but we are used to it. .
I work most Saturdays and these ole bones get mighty sore by the end of the day. These days I often wonder just how I did what I used to...LOL.
Best be moving on and heading on down my road to home and some sleep.
Take care all, nice to see ya's.
Real

Hi Real,

Its good to see you here.  I have been missing the frontporch.  Have you gotten any of the big snow yet?  We are waiting now to see how cold it will get and how much rain or whatever come we will have.  It has been in the 70s and upper 60s the last few days so when it drops this evening it will feel so much colder than usual in the winter.  We have lots of wind right now and when I went to the mailbox earlier I smelled that crispness that only comes in the winter, so I guess we are not immune to it this year. lol

Me and Phoenix are getting better and feeling better everyday it seems.  Today I just feel so much better than I have in such a long time it seems.

We went to a surprise birthday dinner for Phoenix oldest sister Sunday with the whole family and friends from her church at Red Lobster and it was so good that her children managed to to keep it a surprise. lol  She says no more surprises after this birthday. lol  She turned 70, but looks ten years or more younger.  I enjoyed the seafood so much and those wonderful cheese biscuits they have there.  I ate more than I have been while sick and was stuffed to the gills, but it was so gooood!!

A friend of Phoenix called sometime ago and wanted us to move to Colorado Springs where he is living now and just begged us to come there.  I am glad we didn't after what they got this year in snow and ice.  I told Phoenix he needs to call him and ask him if he wants to move back here. lol

I hope everyone who got the worst snow and ice and low temps are doing okay.  Maybe some will come to the frontporch and share their stories of what happened where they are.

I know you are enjoying your grandbabies so much Real.  They do make your heart sing don't they?  Gosh it doesn't seem like your youngest one is already 19 months old.  The time seems to fly too fast when they are babies doesn't it?

I was talking on the phone to my youngest son yesterday evening and his youngest daughter walked past him and asked who he was talking to and when he told her, she said, "You talk to her everyday" lol  He told her no he doesn't and then told her that I am his mommy.  lol  She is a character and I sure miss being there to watch her grow up and the rest of the grandbabies too.

Well, I have to get going and fix supper, but hope to get back here as soon as I can and catch up with you all.  Wow it is so relaxing and comfortable here I had forgotten.

Love and Hugs,
Winds

Hi Winds (((HUGS))). So glad to hear you are feeling much better!
We have had bouts with flu symptons. Our temps have dropped down into the lower digits at night and had 3 inches of snow and some snow flurries. So it is beginning to look like winter now. Maybe now we will start to feel better. Hubby doesn't get out much when there is snow on the ground. Our corn furnace keeps him interested with all the things needed to clean the corn.. LOL. And he has become a pretty good computer whiz..LOL.
Was your day time temps normal at the 70's mark?
Red Lobster???? Oh, I am drooling! "gulp" sounds so good!!! Would love to eat at one. Ohhhh, I bet it was scrumptious!!!!!!!!
It is so nice to get back in here and I am sure that those who are surrounded in deep snow and ice will get warmed up with the warmth coming from this site.
Take care, God/Creator bless you and all.
Sending love and light, inner peace, Real

Hi Real ((((((HUGS back))))))

In answer to your question, no, it is not normal for the days to be in the 70s this time of year, so it was good to be able to get outside and feel the warmth of the sun.  It doesn't look like we will be getting any of those for awhile. lol  We are having so much trouble with high mold pollen here.  My allergies don't let up. lol

I think it is great your hubby has become a computer whiz.  Now he knows why the rest of us like them so much. lol

I hope you stay well the rest of the winter and that the cold weather going through now will take care of those nasty little germ critters that like to attack this time of year.

Sure is good to sit on the porch and talk again.

Love,

Winds

Hi Winds and All, It sure is nice to sit on the porch and relax. We are down into the teen's for temps at night but the ole sun has shown it's radiance today. Hubby bought butterfly wind chimes and at first I brought them in when our winds began to blow hard for fear of them getting tossed to the netherland's. We had quite a storm the other night(s) and I love the sound of thunder. Am getting ready to get the lawn and flower beds ready for when ever nature decides to get spring in gear...LOL. Maybe with some warmth, we'll all feel better.
Sending love and healing light to all, Real

It sure is nice to sit here on the frontporch again!   I sure miss sitting here talking to everyone and enjoying the sunshine and nice breezes.

It has been cold at night here too, Real, off and on, but I hope we are heading into rather steady weather soon so we can put out flowers and get things looking good for Summer.  I agree with the thought that maybe when it gets warmer and stays nice we will all feel better.  I am looking forward to that.

We bought some rosebushes that were a good price and brought them home when it was still cold.  We brought them into the house to keep for a bit until we could plant them and one of them sprouted a long stem and has a bud on top of it.  We had a few hot days here so we put them out in pots and they looked really good.  The next night we had temps that dropped into the low 30s without warning and the one with the bud on it shows the effects in the limpness of its leaves and the faint tint of yellow in them too.  I don't know if the bud will make it, but am looking forward to seeing if it will bloom.  The primroses we planted last year (supposed to be shade plants) are blooming like crazy this year and have so many blooms you can hardly see the foliage.  They are in full sun, so that was a nice surprise..lol

Well, it has been nice sitting here chatting for a bit, but have to get on my way for the evening.  I am looking forward to our long chats on the frontporch again.  They are so much fun.

Love,

Winds

Dear Winds, that is too bad about your rose bush. I hope it didn't get too much damage from the coolness of the night and gives you both lots of enjoyable beauty. Roses are beautiful. We planted four (years ago at each corner of our then new home) and our Norweigan Elkhound pulled them up because he got scolded..LOL.
Our nights are still down into the 20's and 30's but today the warmth of the sun, when the dark clouds moved away, made it feel warmer. I look forward to warmer days.... if the humidity stays away...  .  and planting flowers.... enough of those veggies for awhile....hehehehe.
Sending lots of love, , light and inner peace, Real

Hi Winds and All. B'rrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr! So much for that warmth we had in the previous weeks. We had snow today and tonight with blowing winds. Reckon I won't stay too long on the porch tonight, but it is a warming site. Thank you Winds,  for that picture of the porch. It is always so comforting.
Sending love in light and warming inner peace.
Da Real
