Hello everyone, Sorry I have not been here lately. Our weather has been changing as most of yours has too and I am trying to get used to cooler temperatures. lol It does feel nice to not have heat so hot that the house would not cool down even with air conditioning, but it turned cold all of a sudden and that was too much. I hope all of you are enjoying nicer weather right now and enjoying the beginning of Autumn or Fall depending on what you call it. The crickets are very loud and the locusts or whatever they are leave their shells all over the place while being very loud most of the day. The grasshoppers and the locusts are trying to take a big share of the tomatoes and it is not sitting well with us. lol I saw the resident flock of geese flying toward the pond yesterday evening. It was nice seeing them in the sky again. They were flying northeast so I don't think they are migrating just yet. lol Well, just wanted to stop by and let you know I am still around. I hope all of you are too. Love in Light and Peace, Winds of Change |

Hi, Winds of Change and Everyone: It seems that people are saying Fall more than Autumn these days. I prefer to call this season Autumn, but find myself saying Fall more now. It's good to have a change from the hot weather of the Summer, but I miss Summer already! lol That's because I'm not looking forward to Winter. Summer seems to go by so fast, but Winter seems to drag on and on. Each season has its own beauty, though, and I think I need to have an attitude adjustment about Winter. It is just as beautiful as the other 3 seasons. I hope everyone has a very pleasant Autumn. Love and peace, Janna |

Hi jtblue skies, I think Autumn is good word for this time of year too. I grew up in the midwest and usually the word Autumn was used only for formal school projects or for special happenings that happened to name their event Autumn dance or whatever. Most of the festivals that happened back there were called Fall Festivals, so I guess the word Fall took over there a long time ago. The other day when Autumn came in the news person said Fall will be here and gave the time for that day that it would come in. You are right more and more people call it Fall and seem for forget that Autumn is a prettier word for it in my thoughts. lol I guess it has gone the way of many wonderful words in our language that have been shortened and changed constantly as times change with the different groups of ages and people. I am not looking forward to Winter either because our house is not insulated too well for a cold winter. I have heard this winter is going to be cold for most. We just got through the main part of the rain from the mass of rain sitting over us from the coast that has been held in place by tropical storm Kyle. We finally had a bit of sunshine yesterday and just now the sun came out for abit again. I hope we can rest from the rain and clouds for a bit now. At least it is going to be a little warmer for a few days too. I love this time of year, even though it makes me feel melancholy alot. I have always thought I felt that way because it is the time of year that nature goes to sleep and it is rather sad to think of missing all of the green and pretty things that warmer weather brings. I do enjoy it though. It is good to hear from you. Love in Light and Peace, Winds of Change |
