Weekly Topic: July 2-8, 2006:

How do you feel about people asking for prayers for themselves?  What things do you feel are appropriate to ask for prayers?  Please feel free to discuss your feelings and beliefs on Prayer.

Dear Room,

I believe that it is okay to pray for yourself.  I do believe, though, that we should not pray for things like money to make us rich and other material things that we don't need.  I feel that we can pray for help in learning what we are to do in all situations if we feel we need help.  I believe we can pray for healing for ourselves to help us do our jobs in this life and for guidance in all things.  We can pray for help when we have a big need and can't find a way to accomplish it, for instance needing food or clothing for us and our families when we don't have any or ask to be shown how to solve our problems we encounter all through our lives.  I think the limit on praying for ourselves would be if we were praying selfishly for things for ourselves that do not enrich our lives on our path and that we do not need.

I do think we should pray more for others than ourselves, but it is okay to pray for ourselves.

Love in Light and Peace,
Winds of Change

Dear Winds, there was a time I would never pray for myself, but always prayed for others well being. Now, there come those times I do pray me.
I agree with all you said and we should pray for others more than for ourselves. When we do, it makes us feel better about ourselves and it adds a touch of God/Creators light upon us.
Love and light, inner peace, Real
