Hello everyone, I have always been fascinated by Mythology. I love to read the stories of the great deeds done and also the stories of how the gods mettled in people's lives causing all kinds of havoc at times. I think that when mythology started it was based on things that people saw that maybe they didn't understand or made stories of gods when things happened that didn't seem to be possible unless higher beings were in on it. Back then, storytelling was a big part of life and many tales were told that relate to everyday life or their superstitions. I like to lose myself in those stories and for the time I am reveling in them becoming lost in them for a short time. There is something fantastic about how they stimulate the imagination as I imagine in my mind what the creatures look like that are described, especially the ones with parts of more than one animal or bird making them up. I think mythology is or was an entertaining way of addressing the whys and hows of people's fears and things that happened in life that could be made into a story or song to carry the tales far and wide as entertainment or carrying the tales of what was going on in the places that were too far for most to travel. No matter if it is based on truth or fiction either one, it is still a favorite part of my reading adventures and now movie adventures that I truly enjoy. Love in Light and Peace, Winds of Change |
