Hello everyone,
I believe that children of every generation have faced some sort of stress or worry, but maybe not about the same things. I was thinking back and the big worry during my childhood was fallout shelters being prepared to use in case of bombings if a war started and ended up coming here. I don't think we as children worried about it as much as the ones building the shelters and teaching us children how to hide under our desks in case of attack..(we can laugh about that now in a sad kind of way, because if bombs had been dropped on us in schools we would not have been saved by our desks).
Anyway, I believe that children today do have more stress and pressures put upon them by a fast moving world which seems to mix them up at times. I also believe that because they are children of today, they will use that wonderful resiliancy of childhood to bounce back and search for ways to maybe fix some things when they grow up. I think in a way though that all children are being affected more so than before, because families move away from each other and children are not raised knowing their cousins, sometimes their grandparents and other family members well enough to feel secure like children used to when it was easy to run to an aunt to ask for advice or an uncle or to just sit and ask questions of our grandparents about what it was like when they were kids. Maybe somehow children of today will decide they want or need a slower pace of life and will turn the world around by starting to care about each other again.
Love in Light and Peace,
