Hi Ratty ... This divination was performed by George and ummmmm.... oh gods I've forgotten her name (the one that did the personality work) back in May. It was the night he got the name rune-kicker, lol
As far as the one we did on this solstice I thought it was very cool ... the weaving of the runes audibly was fascinating! It created an energy that was compelling and strong, one that had my complete attention as Nic reached through the veil. And noooo, you weren't too loud, lol I thought you were a beautiful counter-point to the deeper tones of the men.
For those that are curious ... Prior to the solstice ritual, Ratty and I attended an Asatru ritual rune-cast. The Gothi (Priest) and Gythia (Priestess) prepared the group with explainations for those that needed it. The gythia opened the sacred space (slightly different from casting a circle) and the gothi began the chant which was a round of 3 runes: Elhaz, Wunjo and Ansuz that interchanged our vocal rythyms and tones. Once our chant was brought to a close the gythia had settled into a light trance, recited her invocation and cast the runes. They were read generally with each participant finding meaning at various points and levels .... at least thats how it worked for me. Though I paid close attention only certain runes had any clarity for me, so I can surmise that those that stood out for me in the reading were meant to do so. Afterwards we were dispersed with the gods blessing. The body of the ritual was done in old norse (the gythia is an 'old icelandic' student) which I thought was awesome ... seeing a rit rendered as it traditionally would be (both the gothi and gythia are norse traditionalists and scholars in their own rights) was a wonderful experience, one I hope to participate again in the future.
