Phoebe's been here 7 years (this month! ) .  She LOVES to whistle, and does very long, elaborate tunes.  When she first came here, her first mom told me that Phoebe had learned to whistle the USC Trojans "fight song" from one of her boyfriends and whistled it often, but I never could find a recording of it so never knew  what it sounded like.

Saturday night I had a dinner date here.  He showed up with a very large side of fresh salmon, so that's what I fixed for dinner .  Birds got their dishes first-- salmon, a piece of baked potato, carrots,  broccoli, etc.  They were in heaven.  Yumm....  (Having leftovers tonight, yumm again  )

So--we sat down at the table to eat, and the birds were still busy with theirs.  When Phoebe was finished eating, she started serenading us with a "whistle fest".  My guest was listening, and said whatever she was whistling sounded familiar.  I said she supposedly whistles the USC song, but I wouldn't recognize it.  He said "That's it!!!" and started whistling it back to her.  He couldn't see her, but I could.  And the look on her face was priceless!  She stopped whistling, turned her head sideways and her eyes were saying "OMG!  FINALLY Mom brings someone home who speaks my language!"  So they spent the next 20  minutes whistling together, while Harley danced.

When he was getting ready to leave we were standing in the living room, just like last time, when Phoebe regurgitated for him.  She worked so hard this time to get down onto the  floor but couldn't quite make it--finally crawled down the door of Harley's cage and jumped to the floor. Waddled right over to him again, regurgitated next to his foot, put her head down and let him scratch her neck for a very long time.

He's a keeper, for sure.  When he got here I told him it was Harley's hatchday, and when we were at the store to pick up some potatoes, he insisted we buy Harley some birthday treats.  So we did.  Cooper even talked to him this time.  Is this good, or what!

Oh boy...she's in Wuv.  I wonder if we're gonna have a Mr. Goodbird soon.....or will it be Mr. Phoebe!  Just kidding.  Bet all your birds are gonna want him around...he brings them all goodies and know how to talk!
