That just makes me so mad!!  I remember seeing posts selling feathers on Ebay some time ago.  We were led to believe they were molted!!
Those poor birds!

I can think of some well deserved 'rewards' for the idiots that did this. That's disgusting! Poor birds, the trauma to them is unthinkable.

Not much info on this and it's been kept under wraps for months .... below is all I know and when it does hit the news columns more will be known...

Most of the birds need extensive rehabbing  (NY state). None have any feathers at all, just what you see in the picture, that is what they all look like. Some of the birds are sick. They mostly have vitamin deficiencies. Birdie has a clean bill of health but she is one of the few who is healthy. The people are drug dealers and the investigation is ongoing…it is being kept under wraps for fear of reprisals. Laurie

"Fear of reprisals"???? I didnt know us birdlovers were so violent. Not that many of us haven't plucked those brutes mentally. Louise

Hello,

I can see the intelligence, confusion, and hurt in this bird's eye.  What I like to say about who did this would not pass muster; however, I am hoping there is a special ring in Hell reserved for the alleged humans who did this.

I'll be leaving now so I can cuddle The Princess and once again be grateful for her.

Ohmg, i very sick and sad to hear about that kind of abuse. I think the kind of bird is a Senegal. I have one and the bird colour from your pics looks like grey on the head,  v shape green breast, on the tummy orange-yellow, and the wings green has a short straight tail. What do u think? He / She is about 7 inches long. Ok.

Liz it's a Bluefront Amazon and the only one so far who was healthy enough to be adopted...
You were right about it having the colouring of a Sennie though...

I just now saw this post. Where in NY was this? Do they need foster homes for any of the Zons? Rehab is needed big time.

I don't know where in NY the birds are. They are being cared for with a vet and will have quite a lengthy stay before any adoptions would be permitted.
So far no further information has been available or at least shared with me...
