I was in the kitchen ironing quilt pieces, with Cooper on his cage several feet behind me. He's in there with me often, so this was nothing new to him, but I guess he needed a closer look! He flap-flap-flapped, landed on my shoulder and leaned over with his head sideways, and said "Hey!!! What're ya doin' THERE???" Then he sat there and had a conversation with me. I tried to finish pressing, but after four times of removing him from my shoulder we had a little session with the scissors. There wasn't much to trim. I'm amazed he could fly so well with only a couple full flights on each wing. Hopefully this will help prevent another unpleasant experience like we had a few days ago, me as the target of his little outburst! |

I know how that is Arnie Kept flying over to Fergies cage all the and scaring Fergie out of her wits. I took him in to get his wings clipped and she said that someone had clipped his wings already so I told her that somthing had to be done because he's scareing my other birds so she clipped them shorter. but he's obviously avery strong flyer if he can fly with his wings clipped. I'm going to have to keep a close eye on him to make sure his wings don't grow out to much or he will be flying out the door. |

Oh wow....I was thinking you must've had Cooper mixed up with some other busy green birdie beak....but it was just my really bad memory! Now I know what you're talking about (I think ) I'm surprised my house isn't full of toothpicks and loose furniture stuffing! I got birds up and in their cages, then went back to bed for quite a long time today. I was SURE Cooper was locked in, so didn't think anything at all when I heard some flapping and movement out here. Then a few hours later I found him in the kitchen, so he'd been out most of the day |

He got out through his water dish door and it wouldn't surprise me at all if he's figured out how to manipulate the locking disc thingie on the outside with his toes, while pushing the door open. |

I think this is what she's talking about.... When Cooper was about 9 months old, I got a new Washer/Dryer set, which my ex delivered but couldn't install that day so they sat in my kitchen for about a month, in the cardboard boxes. Cooper loved sitting on those boxes, and I thought it would keep him busy chewing up as much of that cardboard as he wanted. He hadn't gone very far, when I discovered him leaning way into the box, being VERY QUIET, chewing the rubber off one of the control knobs I have some pictures of him doing his victory dance, will have to find them later |

That's hilarious, GB! Birds are so much like kids in that respect. If there is a sudden silence, you just KNOW they are up to something that is not a good thing! lol That's a great story, GB ... I'll look forward to seeing the pictures! Abby |

Oh my, Sherri! That sounds like the "limited" version of the story! Seems that I remember Cooper REMOVING the knobs and dropping them down into the box. That was the reason you noticed him hanging off of the edge looking down. LOL!! Either way - gotta love them amazons! Speaking of which - Moe has a NEW teacher. Sheesh... lately he seems very interested in Tommy's antics. Usually he just ignores the little talk-about. This morning, Tommy did his usual get-into-as-much-trouble as possible thing....only Moe climbed down off of his palace and followed behind him ....putting beak marks in everything Tommy talked to. Sadly, Robert was unable to wear his boots to work this morning... they no longer contain the SMALL holes in which to lace them up about half-way up one boot. Only one big hole remains. Of course I found that amusing and made the comment that this design would take less time to lace up. Crystal |

Oh my!! lol Did you forget a few details, GB? Poor Robert, Crys! lol That is just too funny! That was a great way to start my day, laughing my butt of at poor Robert's expense! lol Reminds me of the time when Zipper, my Cairn Terrier-Poodle cross, was a few months old. My ex gave Zipper some of his old shoes to play with, and I told him that was a very bad idea. However, he never did listen to me about anything else, so why would he about that? Anyway, he bought a new pair of dress shoes for work, and when he came in late one night, he left them at the door instead of putting them in the closet. You guessed it! Zipper chewed the entire back of the heel out of both shoes! I had a really hard time not saying I told you so! The ex didn't see any humour in it at all! lol Abby |

THanks GB, Lady.. I needed a laugh.. and I sure got it with Cooper and Moes' antics! Zipper's too Abby. I had to laugh at that as well.. men! When Michael and I hadn't been together very long, We were working different shifts. Irish, my yellow Lab was 5 and used to sleeping on my bed. Michael came home tied and made her get off so he could get some sleep. Later we had to go to my Dr's appointment, and left Irish in the room.. with the Cinnabuns Michael had brought home. Normally, she was good as gold and never touched anything unless given the "ok". When we got home she had not only eaten the buns, but his work shoe laces as well. I thought it was funny about the laces, but he had a fit. I told him I'd replace them but he said he wanted them now! Well after lunch, we left again to his Dr's app't. When we got home, Irish had returned his laces back into his shoes as requested... along with the Cinnabuns! I couldn't help it. I just died! We still laugh about it now, but he sure didn't think it was funny then! |
