Couldn't find a pic in a hurry so hope another rose is OK.

We are in another drought it lools like as no rain... The larger city close by did det dumped on one day last week..
So I have been busy in the yard and garden pulling plants that need to be watered daily... Less is going to be best if we have another year like the last two ... no rain... no moisture...
It is hot already though this morning I did cut off the a/c and open a door while waiting for the sun to come up.
Hope the rest of the country is enjoying Spring.....

 Guess what we've been doing.

You just had to go read what's in peanut butter....didn't you.  And this....right after I ate some peanut butter.  Bleeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhh.
But the part where you mention eating spiders in your sleep got my attention, Maggy.  Pray tell.....what kind of dreams are you having!
We've been catching mostly bream....the Bluegill kind and some Pumpkin seed.  I've caught some Small Mouth Bass and we both have been catching quite a few Stripers.  Those Stripers are good fighters...fun to catch.....don't wanna eat.  Way too many bones.
I bet your Mom and Aunt had an enjoyable day with you going to some favorite spots of mine.  I haven't been to them in years since they weren't up north and haven't taken the time since we've been here.  But, you jiggled the good memories of some neat past purchases and the next time we have a little money, I'll see if I can talk Bob to going to the mall in Clarksville.
I just HAD to ask, Copper....you gotta beak?  Is this one of those things talked about when people turn into their pets?  Has your appetite changed any?  Got a craving for pinenuts?

Annie......we NEVER tire of your photos....go ahead and stick some bug ones in there....I really like them and I know Crystal secretly admires your bugs.  How's the Mockingbirds.  I missed out on how they made out...I hope the hatch was successful.  Has there been any new additions to the bunny family?

Well, at least a few of you were busy and not just staring at the board waiting for someone else to post.

Feathers, the mockers deserted the nest. Three eggs were taken by something and one remains. I leave it alone now although I should get that egg out.

Hubby has seen one bunny outside the fence but I haven't seen him.

The brown thrashers are back, busily hunting bugs.

Dad Cardinal is bringing a baby boy this time. Usually Mom comes with the boys and Dad brings the girls. I am not sure we have any baby girls. I saw Dad feeding either Mom or a girl today. Couldn't tell which.

The wren came up with me sitting on the patio. Very rare for her to land nearby when I am out.  She peeked at me from the tree over and over and of course I had the camera in my hand. Haven't uploaded the pic yet but it's cute.

I saw some birds hammering on the gazebo railing today and went to see. It was woodpeckers and they have destroyed one rail on the back side.  They did this because I bragged that the suet seems to keep them busy and they leave the buildings alone.
It will be a mess to replace that board. Have to tear out many others to get to it. I may just fill in the holes with wood filler.
Annie

Here's the Bewick's wren. Isn't she cute?
And a dung beetle that I sort of stepped on before I took a pic. Disgusting creature.

Aww, sweet little birdy!
The colors of the squoosh-bug are beautiful!

And yes, I've become one of the birds! just need to move the nares up above my eyes.... Wait, that would mean I wouldn't be able to perch my glasses in front of my eyes!...
Ok, scratch that one... But I do like pine nuts!!

Doggonit, I sure was looking forward to some neat baby pics and stories.  Wonder if a nasty ole snake slid in there......taking eggs one by one.  It would've been the first Mock nest I've heard do well in that kind of location.  Maybe they'll got back there once you remove that last egg.  I'll keep my fingers crossed.
I've been meaning to look up on the internet the Dung Beetle and the Japanese Beetle.  We've got them here now too and I actually came across one rolling some of Meiling's "goodies" down the hill.  If I ever wanted a video cam at some time....it would've been then.  Meiling spotted the busy guy or gal and the look on her face was positively priceless.  She looked so much like she was mentally questioning the bug's mental state....wondering why.....oh why would anything want with doo doo, other than to use it to roll in.  I could not remember whether it was a dung or Japanese Beetle.
Evidentally hubby is having a more difficult time figuring out what that beetle is too...since he just said, "That's a pretty colored Turkey".  He's not far from me....about 8 feet.  And he's wearing glasses that are bifocal.  Sad...hunh.
Okay, Copper.....let us know when you sprout wings.  Then we'll beging to worry.
Those wrens are so neat....we've got a few I can get real close too when I'm walking in the woods.  They don't seem to mind me at all.  I'm hoping to do like you...sit on the deck and have them hop all around me...maybe eat something from my hand.   Ate.....ete....ote......ate......
Why did you sorta step on the beetle before you took a pic?
Was it to gross out Crystal?  Yeah.....bet it was to get her.....I can hardly wait.

Both of us have been ill today with nausea and vommiting.  Dunno why....we don't eat the same things....or similar either....nor at the same time.  Maybe we ate too many spiders last night....but then....I didn't go to bed so I would've ate em....eaten em.....et em...ot em....while I was awake.

A baby mocker flew into the breakfast room window while ago and hubby said he was stunned for a long time. Then he jumped up onto the window ledge and sat for a long long time. He's gone now so I guess he's OK.
Two Downys flew into the front door at different times in the last week. They recover lots faster than the mockers do.

Hope you and Bob are lots better now. Strange for you both to be sick and you haven't eaten the same thing. Maybe a bug you are catching down by the lake?
Annie

Hi. I'm just being slothful for a few days after having an epidural in my back for the pain.  I'm lying here on the bed, sipping iced tea and trying to learn the ins and outs of my new laptop.

Don has been a trooper stepping in and doing all the work so I can give this procedure a fair chance to decrease my pain level. di

Oh Di, I hope your epidural will help you.   I sure have been thinking of you.  One thing I've learned through this whole neck situation is that everyone is different, heals differently, hurts differently.  What works for one might not work for another.  What heals quickly on one person might not on another.  I'm trying to keep from being discouraged.  Best wishes to you as I sit on my bed, with my laptop, propped on my pillows, with my heating pad!!!

Di I hope you are taking it easy and glad you are laying relaxing having Don do all the work..
How I wish you were in the right mind but what does it even matter? you are in one piece even if the wrong month is OK because we love you and understand.

Tesco's at home is WalMart here so as soon as they carry  those bugs I'll take a poke full....

No wonder you put this under May instead of June!! See what bug eating will do to the Texans?
