Hard to believe it is October already.. I was going to look for the countdown to "how many days left" but decided since I was off to WallyWorld they'd have it posted no doubt.... Still on the hot and muggy side here but I heard this weekend it should be cooler.... hopefully! |

Sherri- I am with you... the flying monkeys in Wiz of Oz always gave me nightmares. Just saw the musical "Wicked" for the first time on Tues night. It was very well done. An interesting plot to explain how the Wiz of Oz characters all came to be who they are by the time we see them in the Wiz of Oz. It was also quite humorous, which I wasn't expecting. |

Thanks for sharing, Ring. I have a good friend that wants me to go see "Wicked" when it comes here, and I wasn't looking forward to it. She gave me the book, and in my opinion, it was just tooooo long. I thought it could have been condensed in half, and the story would have been fine. So - I'm glad to hear it was good and humerous too. Barb p.s. - was Elphaba's monkey Chistery in the stage version? |

It is an adorable picture! Does this mean she will marry a man named Peter? Peter, Peter, pumkin eater; Had a wife and couldn't keep her; He put her in a pumpkin shell; And there he kept her very well. |

CUTE picture ! Barb- there are monkeys in the "Wicked" musical, but none are really singled out/ named that I was aware of. I have not read the book, but my neighbor has. She was also surprised when I mentioned the musical had humor, as she said the book was quite "dark". I almost chose tickets for tonight- seemed a good play to see on Halloween, but I didn't want to miss the potential trick-or-treaters. We are in a new neighborhood and not sure how many kids we will have. Anyway, the play is not dark at all- actually usually quite light & entertaining and I bet you will enjoy it. |

The book certainly needed a bit more humor....and thank you for the tips on the show. I love musicals, and will accept Shelley's invitation to see it. Thanks! Barb |

When is Miss Caleigh's Birthday? I didn't get her on the calendar. My bad, I'll get her on there. |

I plugged in the computer this AM to see how Annie was doing (it's on the floor in this corner) Barb called with an update and Sherry keeps me informed also... The computer acted weird so I had to ask for help at CF... Halloween tonight... how time flies! I thought I'd not brush my hair or wash my face today and scare the heck out of the Tricksters tonight... and if this computer is going on the blick again, then the broom is handy so don't forget to wave... To Annie prayers and blessings.... |

Barb- I need to make a correction. There is indeed a character for "Chistery" in Wicked. There are just a few scenes with monkeys and I didn't realize one was more special when we saw the play. But I went back and looked at the cast list & Chistery is listed. As it turns out- my friend's son is in Wicked on Broadway. Now that I had seen the show, I asked him which parts the young man plays...I know he is a "swing"- which means he rotates through 12 different roles on various nights. My friend said his son is also one of the understudies for Chistery, but that he doesn't like playing that role as it is quite demanding on his body. |
