Hi I am Dale and don't let my name fool you I am female....Chronic pain really began with me when I was at work at Pizza Hut...I was Assitant Manager Training to be Manager of the Carry-out delivery store in Portland Oregon...I was carring 4 large pan pizza pans with frozen dough in them and I was putting them up on top of the oven to do a rush on getting the dough to thaw and fat least fill the pan it could rise in the oven while baking the pizza...anyways I twisted at the same time of lifting them and that was all it took I sprained my entire spine severally....I was out of work for 6 months and on workmans comp....I saw a chiropractor and a doctor instead of getting better I just started getting worse walking became very painful difficult any movement my spine did just shot through my spine with electrical shocks of pain and a sawing into my spinalcord feeling......the pain then took over my muscles and joints and stole any strength I had the fatigue depression chronic pain was driving me insane....I wanted to just die....I couldn't sleep think or just plain function.....they did MRI's on my lumbar area and my neck I have a buldge disk at c-4 &c-5 and degenrative disk in my spine which is sever in my neck and lower back and I have sciatic(pyscotic) nerve....on top of that it triggered what they call post tramatic fibromyalgia.....from the injury on is when it all began for me this world of chronic pain....I can no longer work and am on SSI & SSDI.....I am now 51 and have 2 beautiful daughters and 4 Grandchildren 3 boys and 1 girl.....I have been a chronic painer for 6 years now and must say it is this site that has taught me to be proactive with my health care....after finding this life saving site I got my answers to why I was in pain and what I needed to do to controll it.....I never thought I'd be able to make the transition from a normal to a chronic painer but there is life after you learn how to controll the pain.......Dale |

Oh I must add to my own bio....what I once thought that is why chronic pain came into my life....what was being diagnosed through out the years is not why chronic pain came into my life.....I understand even more why the injury was disabling for me....why the injury happened in the first place..... I have recently learned that Acute Intermitten porphyria has been passed through my family....this is a very rare blood disorder that has been associated with vampires werewolfs and also was known as MAD King George the III disease....unfortunatly when leaving the porphyria un treated the pyscosis is part of the disease....we lack the enzyme needed for sythizing the hemoglobin for producing red blood cells....because of the lack of enzyme the blood and the body starts getting filled up with porphyrians and it is those that poison our nervous system and organs .....because I have those porphyrians and the porphyrian perscuress it comes out in the urine and the bowel movement...mainly this is why porphyria people who are untreated like me right at the moment....urine is orange and green or tea like or wine like...it can be blue and it can be purple.....I'm 52 years old now and I am very sick and have alot of nerve damage from the years of not having the porphyria treated...with the new hemotalagest who knows about porphyria will help me to get to the treatment....because it is so rare there is only one pharmacutical company that makes the treatment/drug and that is called panhemetin....glucose is also part of the treatment intravenously is how both medicines are given.....thankfully the grandkids will be tested and shown how to live with wether they are latent with the disease or considered active with the disease...and age does not matter my 4 year old Grandson is active with the disease...... |

I just want to comment that I'm glad we were here to help you, Dale. I remember back and what a mess you were when you first came here. So it's doubly good to see you doing well now. But don't give us too much credit, sweetie. We may have showed the way, but it was you who had the courage to make the needed changes in your life and in the way you dealt with your pain. Love and healing hugs, Dan |

Hi There: I would like to suggest a elastic black back support like mine, see the picture. It truly is a miracle for me as I have a compressed L-5 fracture and Compressed T6-7 compressed fracture, osteoarthritus and protrubing disc bulge. You must inves in 2 supports, cut of fthe extra two straps, and cut off one velcro side (12" length) and have it sewn onto the other support so it can fit someones waist properly. Once it is put on, I could feel the back pain going down in seconds. I recommend it to anyone with back pain. Raymond. |
