Hot Apple Cider
1/2 c. brown sugar
1/4 tsp. salt
2 qt. cider
1 tsp. whole allspice
1 tsp. whole cloves
1 (3 inch) stick cinnamon

Combine first 3 ingredients in 3-quart saucepan. Tie spices in cloth bag; add to cider mixture. Bring to a boil; simmer for 20 minutes. Remove spice bag; serve hot.

SPICED WARM CIDER

1/2 gallon apple cider
1/3 C. dark brown sugar
2 sticks cinnamon
5 whole allspice berries
1 chunk fresh ginger, 1/2 inch by 1/2 inch, peeled
3 whole cloves
8 orange slices

In a 3-quart saucepan, combine cider, sugar, cinnamon sticks, allspice berries, ginger, and cloves. Heat to a simmer and allow to cook 20 minutes. Strain into a punch bowl and garnish with orange slices. Serve warm.

Serves 8.

Hot Apple Cider
1 gallon apple cider
1/8 c. red hots (cinnamon candies)
1 c. brown sugar
3 c. orange juice

Hang a cheesecloth bag on the side with 1 tablespoon ground cloves and 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon in it.  Warm all this together. Remove spices and serve.

Hot Sweet Apple Cider

Ingredients

  • 2 qt. cider
  • 3/4 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp. nutmeg
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar

Directions

Place over low heat until steaming hot. Pour into cups and place a piece of stick cinnamon in each cup. Delicious with hot buttered popcorn.

1 teaspoon ground cloves



Combine all ingredients in large saucepan; bring to a boil. Reduce

heat to low, simmer uncovered, 10 minutes. Remove for heat and pour

into service container. Serve in coffee cups

1 (32-ounce) bottle cranberry juice cocktail

1/2 cup lemon juice

1/3 cup brown sugar, firmly packed

8 whole cloves

2 cinnamon sticks



In a large saucepan over medium heat, combine ingredients and bring to

a boil, stirring occasionally. Reduce heat and simmer uncovered 10

minutes. Strain out spices and serve warm. Makes 2 quarts.

Apple Pomegranate Cider
 
Ingredients
5 cups apple cider
1 1/2 cups pomegranate juice
5 dried cloves
1 cinnamon stick

Directions
Heat all ingredients (except the pomegranate juice) until it
starts to simmer. Once it reaches a simmer, remove from heat.
Let it steep for 45 minutes to an 1 hour. Strain and then stir
in pomegranate juice. Reheat, serve and enjoy!

Prep Time: 1 Min
Cook Time: 45 Min
Total Time: 46 Min
Servings: 4

1 tsp whole cloves

1 qt cranberry juice

1/2 cup lemon juice or 2 cups pink grapefruit juice



Garnish:

Thin slices of orange or lemon



Combine apple, cranberry, and lemon or grapefruit juices. Stir in sugar

and add spices tied in a cheesecloth bag. Simmer over low heat fifteen

minutes. Remove from fire and strain if spices were not tied.

Cherry Spiced Cider

This tasty beverage is a treat for youngsters.
1 quart apple cider
3/4 cup orange juice
1/4 cup maraschino cherry juice
1 (3-inch) stick cinnamon
1 strip (1/2x3-inches) orange peel
3 whole cloves
3 whole allspice
16 maraschino cherries
8 orange slice halves

Put apple cider, orange juice, maraschino cherry juice, cinnamon
sticks,
orange peel, cloves and allspice in a large saucepan; bring to a
boil.
Reduce heat;
simmer 15 minutes. Strain out cinnamon sticks, orange peel, cloves
and
allspice. Place 2 maraschino cherries and 1 orange slice half in each
of
six mugs.
Pour about 2/3 cup spiced cider over cherries. Serve warm.

Makes 8 servings.
