I had a virus yesterday again...  so I decided to do a bit of a clean up on my pc...  I have scheduled a disk clean up daily... Is that the right thing to do? or should I do it less often?

Also... I have a little sun hiding behind a cloud icon right beside the time on the tool bar where the start button is. When I went into add and remove programmes I was unable to remove this. Any ideas why? There were a few other hot bar thingys I couldn't remove which was most annoying.

Start ... settings..  taskbar and start menu ... you might be able to remove it from there honey. Cos that the programms that are on your taskbar and run when you boot up the pc.

The hot bars should be there as well i think ..... just run the ad ware proggy to get rid of 90% of it all.

Diskclean ... i would only do when needed.

Oooooookay.   I do the same routine every couple of days mate.  Might seem a bit excessive but I download an awful lot of PSP stuff and it makes the pc run smoother too.  I clear out all cookies and temp files from the IE toolbar, then I go to my C Drive and remove the ones it missed manually and remove all the recent documents there too.  I do a disk cleanup and a disk defragment on all drives.  I update Norton's and run it again (it's set to run every morning at 9am aswell).  I update and run my Spybot aswell.  I go through all my folders and files once a week and zip everything I don't use very often.  I do a back up onto CDRW every week too.  Oh, and I create a new system restore point too when I've done all that.  Oh, and I occassionally do the PC Pitstop routine and follow up on the suggestions there too so I get all my chequered flags...lol.

Glad you asked?

If it was me noel, i would go to run  ( in the start menu) and type in msconfig, then ok.  Then in the window that opens click on the start up menu.  This contains what opens when your puter starts, this is ..........what is on mine
Don't touch anything with C:/windows/systems, after it.  But you may be able to find what the prob is here lovey.

And disc clean i normally do when my machine is running slow, a disc clean, cookies etc!!!  Helps the little darlin lose some weight and move a bit faster!!!!!
