I  have noticed that most of us don't agree with our new President on many issues.
BUT
The majority of voters put this man in office for their own reasons.

I would sincerely like to hear some pro Bush things too.

I have a cousin in Alabama that is sincerely
PRO Bush and we have been having an ongoing dialog
for some times now about this .
It is great fun and he even makes sense sometimes

So step up explain your opinions ......

I voted for Bush.  I sure did!  Let the stoning begin.

Face it.  We are bound, at this point in time, by a two-party system.  My "Pro-Bush" argument is the lamest of all -

I am only moderately "Pro-Bush", and that is largely due to my ties to the military.  I saw firsthand, during the Clinton administration, many of my best friends lose penchants, health insurance, and the benefits that they were promised for the rest of their lives under a Democrat.  So, I already have a bias against liberals.  John Kerry did not strike me as very liberal, but the fact remains that I am vehementally anti-Kerry.

There is a difference, you know.

Hi Josie,

I hear what you are saying about military people losing benefits, but with the Bush goverment way more of them will die in battle in an unnessary war, so they won't even need any benefits because they will be dead. I know that you are only mildly pro-Bush, so I'm just trying to point out a hole in your arguement. Maybe the US needs more than 2 choices, because it just seems too polarized.

peace,
Curiosty

Josie.....
Dang did you hit that nail on the head!!
Republicans try and look liberal ,
while keeping the old school bravado
while
Democrats try and look conservative,
afraid to stand on a true democratic platform

They all start looking like charlatans and illusionist after awhile to me!!!

Oh Josie, Josie, you know I love you, but are you nuts?? No, sorry, I'm joking, I'm joking- please tell me you know that.

I'm going to be very respectful of other people's opinions I'm going to be very respectful of other people's opinions I'm going to be very respectful of other people's opinions I'm going to be very respectful of other people's opinions.

Yeah, you're right that Clinton cut benefits for those in the military and their families, but Bush has continued that trend.  While I'm no raging supporter of Kerry, I do believe he was sincere when he said he would restore the cuts in that area that Bush and Clinton had made.  Somehow Bush seems to get a pass on these things- either people aren't aware or his talk about strength and the fear he instills makes people not care about the negative stuff he's done in that (among other) areas.

And I gotta agree with Curiousity that he's put our kids in harms way for no good reason at all (at least that I can figure out).

Ex- I do believe that democrats try to look conservative, but don't see where the republicans are trying to act liberal.  Those on the right have managed to attach such a stigma to the term liberal that no one, either democrat or republican wants to be associated with it.

IMO virtually all progress that's come in the US has come from liberals- from getting rid of slavery to giving women the right to vote, to social security in order to take care of the elderly, to the civil rights movement in the 60s to abortion rights.  If not for liberals pushing these issues we'd still be back in the dark ages (more than we are now).

Bush's policies have benefitted his friends- while he pretends to be a down home Texan people seem to forget that he was born to one of the wealthiest families in the country, got a free pass at Yale, failed in the private sector.  Yet people have this perception that he's just a "regular" guy.  How many "regular" guys would have gotten the chances he's got.  And he's paid back those who've given him those opportunities big time.  The gap between rich and poor gets larger and larger, his tax cuts benefit only the wealthy at the expense of the poor, yet people give him a pass.

I could go on, and most likely will, but for now.....

I just don't get it.

Under Bush, the Pentagon has cut imminent danger pay as soldiers die every day in Iraq and family separation pay as soldiers are separated from their families for months. Bush has done absolutely nothing for this country, other than to convince way too many of us that we are in imminent danger from somebody or other. Somebody really scary. Somebody really scary who speaks Arabic. Bush's other memorable accomplishment was to destroy numerous international alliances that we spent decades building. He has also destroyed two nations (one of which - Iraq - had nothing at all to do with anything- yet people STILL think they had something to do with 9/11). All I have to say is that IF YOU are pro-Bush, keep your mouth shut when you see that we're still in Iraq for at least four more years, and thousands more of our nation's youth are still being slaughtered and maimed there. Keep your mouth shut about everywhere else Bush sends our nation's youth to die and be ripped apart - and he most definitely will sacrifice them elsewhere. Keep your mouth shut about your grandchildren who will still be paying for Bush's preemptive escapades around the globe - that is if we have a globe as he continues to relax laws and restrictions that protect the environment. It won't matter anyway, as the Americans allow him to expand on the Patriot Act we will not have any freedom to enjoy the world we live in anyway, since the way to fight terrorism seems to be to take away our freedom. With all due respect, this talk about charlatans and illusionists - you can't tell me that these "Compassionate Conservatives" are about as phoney as you can get. Where in the hell is the compassion when it comes to killing and taking money and medicine away from the poor and the elderly? - and don't even START talking about the war on drugs and harm reduction. I respect your right to be "pro-Bush" - just do me a favor - don't do it around me and expect me to smile and nod my head......OK?

Nope
NOT OK!!!!
For as much right as you have to air your opinions.
The fact
IS
the majority of Americans voted this man into office.
And the whole point of a democracy is
that everyone can speak

To those of you who are not happy with our current prez, think about
poor me. I've got two of them...George W. and my "beloved" governor,
Baby Bush (Jeb). In many ways he has a more negative impact on me than
his big brother. He claims he's not going to run for prez in '08 and it
makes sense for him skip that one and wait until '12 or '16.
