Grounding And Protection Part 2 Psychic Protection Humankind goes to great lengths and pays great attention to protection. We protect ourselves against everything and anything. We protect ourselves against the elements - we build houses to live in and wear clothes to protect our bodies. We protect ourselves against other people - we lock our doors and build walls around us whether they be physcial or spiritual. We put our money into banks for safe keeping and our life earnings into pension funds. We can insure ourselves against any eventuality. We humans squander and mindlessly spend millions on arms that are intended to protect us against "the enemy," or someone we perceive as the enemy. And, yet few people even realise that there is a much more subtle intrusion against which bolts and bars are powerless - for which the only insurance is to be aware. And what is more, where we often find our greatest enemy is ourself. Are you a therapist or healer, channeller or astral traveler? Do you meditate or seek to expand your consciousness?
Do you find particularly disturbed or troubled people gravitate to you?
Do you use guided imagery or self-hypnosis tapes?
Do you sit in groups or attend workshops?
Has anyone ever, deliberately or inadvertently, placed you under psychic attack?
If so, the chances are you need psychic protection. Few therapists and healers give thought to protecting themselves against their patients. Indeed, many of us actively draw off negative energies believing it will not harm us. Few other people pay attention to the unseen bombardment of thoughts, feelings and powerful emotions that surround us all the time. But, perhaps we should think again. Psychic protection is a important aspect of psychic training or development. Protecting yourself insures that you are physcially, mentally, emotionally and spiritually safe. Safe from other peoples thoughts or feelings of negativity whether it be physical or spiritual. The importance is to put up a shield against this negativity. The object of psychic protection is to prevent intrusion or interference from any unwanted source. The aim is to cleanse and strengthen our own natural protective energies. There are times when it is appropriate to open up to someone else, to feel what they are feeling. Maybe even to draw off negative energies. But, this must be a conscious and considered choice. And, if we are to remain physically, psychically and psychologically healthy, we must know how to clear ourselves afterwards. Psychic protection is subtle and invisible. It works on a non-physical level of being. It resonates to the principle of "like attracts like." It teaches us the power of thought. Visualization is a potent tool in the concept of psychic armoury. At the simplest level, psychic protection is a hoop of light around our feet which we mentally pull up when required. It can be a bubble you inhabit or a crystal you keep in your pocket. The key is to find exactly the right method for you and the situations you find yourself in. As psychic protection works on the vibrational level of being, it can be enhanced by using the subtle energy fields of flower essences and crystals. But, above all else, psychic protection is about being fully grounded in your body. If you only have a toehold on the earth, you will never be secure. Remember and be aware that you can come under psychic attack by spiritual people and physical people. If you suspect someone is intentionally attacking you psychically, break all contact with them immediately and do not have any more to do with them. Insure that when you protect yourself you protect yourself against all. Always try to strive when undertaking psychic or spiritual work for the highest vibration possible - reach upwards to the heavens for the highest sources possible. Be protected for your own well being and safety. ~Am I protected?~ How do you know if you are protected? That is a great question dealing with psychic protection. On a physical level you can feel pain in the back of your neck, solar plexus (pit of stomach), or wrists. Building Up Your Protection You can build up and protect your own energy field in a number of ways. Here are a few easy examples to follow: Keep fit and well
Drink lots and lots of water
Eat a healthy and balanced diet
Love yourself unconditionally
Fill your mind, soul and body with thoughts and feelings of love, peace, light, prosperity and harmony. Fill yourself with only positive loving thoughts
Surround yourself with positive loving people
Keep a physically and spiritually clean environment
Feed your mind and soul read uplifting, self help, spiritual books or what ever interests you. Read and fill your mind with subjects that interest you the most. Exercise for the brain and soul!
Wear protective colours - for example gold, silver, violet or blue
Wear or carry crystals with a protective quality - for example Amethyst, Lapis Lazuli, Sugilite, Laramar, Gold Tigers Eye and Hawks Eye (blue tigers eye) for psychic protection.
Wear or use protective symbols - for example A Cross with or without Jesus Christ on it, The Egyptian Ankh, Rune symbol, Star of David (six pointed star), Circle, Egg, Pentagram (five pointed star, especially for Wiccans/Pagans), or a Pyramid. Symbols are very personal things, so only wear or carry what feels right for you and what you are comfortable with.
