| | I missed the first 2 so Ill give this a go.. To me the High preistess is Duality and begininngs.. The two pillars she sits beside are black and white, and feel kinda like the Yin and yang symbol also her number in the major arcana is 2 hence duality.. The fruit in the back ground show its seeds making me feel that maybe this is the beginning of something magical or different then what one would noramlly do.. Also the tops of the pillars look like lotus flowers about to bloom another sign of opening up .... Theres so much here to see..... Id fill a page.... ~Tess | | Reply
| | I'm gonna give this a go the High Priestess is the guardian of secrets so to me when she appears in a reading. It can mean a secret is to be revealed or there is a secret you wish to be revealed. The high priestess is symbolizing our intuitiveness and the realms. Am I right am I? **GIGGLES** Crissy126 | | Reply
| | ok.. here goes.. it looks to me like above her head is a crystal ball, signifying insight and knowledge, the cross on her chest: spirituality. also another form of knowledge here in the scroll that she is holding in her hands...her gown looks like it begins to turn into flowing water as it reaches the floor, which signifies emotions to me, and also with the crescent moon.. not sure wh at that means but sure it has some significance... the black and white pillars on either side of her seem to signify balance... thats all i'm getting... =) tracy | | Reply

- looking beyond the obvious
approaching a closed off area opening to the unknown remembering something important sensing the secret and hidden seeking what is concealed acknowledging the Shadow The High Priestess is the guardian of the unconscious. She sits in front of the thin veil of unawareness which is all that separates us from our inner landscape. She contains within herself the secrets of these realms and offers us the silent invitation, "Be still and know that I am God." The High Priestess is the feminine principle that balances the masculine force of the Magician. The feminine archetype in the tarot is split between the High Priestess and the Empress . The High Priestess is the mysterious unknown that women often represent, especially in cultures that focus on the tangible and known. The Empress represents woman's role as the crucible of life. In readings, the High Priestess poses a challenge to you to go deeper - to look beyond the obvious, surface situation to what is hidden and obscure. She also asks you to recall the vastness of your potential and to remember the unlimited possibilities you hold within yourself. The High Priestess can represent a time of waiting and allowing. It is not always necessary to act to achieve your goals. Sometimes they can be realized through a stillness that gives desire a chance to flower within the fullness of time. | | Reply
| | The High Priestess is mysterious, wise and a good counselor. She often knows the answer to your question but she wants you to figure it out for yourself. She is asking you to pay attention to your intuition because what appears to be may not be what it is at all. The High Priestess is a good friend to me. She is a magical sorceress with the answers to what I am seeking and she eventually reveals the truth to me when I am ready to receive it. One of my guides is 'Mother Mary' and sometimes this card pops us to represent her. Usually I get this card when I'm not facing the truth about a situation and I really have to be honest with myself. Sometimes it means that my psychic abilities are really opening up. | | |
