Hi Folk's,

Big Reunion 2003:-
On Saturday 24th August 2002. I had a long talk with Matron regarding a big reunion for 2003.
The date Matron wants is August Bank Holiday 2003.
Maximum number of people staying at the school 70.
Cost £25 per person per night including breakfast.
Camping is allowed, price to be worked out, campers can use toilets/showers etc.
No smoking at all in the school (yes I got a slapped wrist) and no entry signs to be obayed.

Mini Reunions:-
If people want to have mini reunions the number should be about 17 maximum.
Phone Matron (01278-732252) if you want to book rooms etc. If she says no it will be because other people are booked in. She gets ex TB patients at the school !!!

Does anyone fancy a "Mini" one in the autumn, just to get the big one organized and have some good food and ale.
I think that now that Justy has vanished, we should collectively organize things.

Nick.

Nick, I'm probably up for that - as it stands at the moment I can manage any weekend in October, none in Nov or early Dec. My shift schedule is almost carved in stone.

I would like some input from Biggles 'cos I think he might be interested. I'd already suggested he come down for a visit in Oct.

I'm happy to organise a meal out on Saturday evening, like last time - I could also arrange a taxi in advance too!

So, lets start a list of those interested.

Nick
Allen (Me)
(Can we update the list as we go? - Copy list, add your own name to it in your own post)

Sad to say, I am not very free for Aug Bank Holiday 03, working 6 till 6 nights Sat & Sun - could put in a bit of an appearance Sat mid day till about 4.30 and could turn up Monday without going to sleep - proably look like the rest of you but I will have been working not boozing!

Regards,

Allen

Allen,

As soon as we get about a dozen, we will liase with Matron regarding rooms and fix a date, does that seem okay.

If you could take care of the victuals that would be excellent.I will bring some wine etc.(promise).

Nick.

Dear Sean,
I think JR paid Matron during the afternoon ? but I think he owes you or some of the lads for the meal. He owe's me a drink for not ratting on him to Matron about smoking though he did use my cigs !!
I think JR should pay for the whole of the Big 2003 reunion..
If people are having a mini during the winter at Quantock please note I have secured the only working storage heater (Kevin has taken all the fuse's out of the rest) My son managed to find a genuine 1960's coal effect electric fire.

Laurie, I didn't mind at all about old JR doing a runner.  His involvement on the Saturday evening was worth every penny, it wouldn't have been the same without him.

You don't seriously expect anyone to voluntarily go back and sleep at the school in mid winter do you?

Whatever happened to the rough tough ex mariner then Sean?, I would hardly call October, mid-winter.Apart from which, some of us are a lot fatter now and so should not feel the chill that easily.!!!

Nick, sounds good, though perhaps someone should pick one of the weekends, 'cos I'm sure not everyone who'd like to come can make all of them - and having chosen one, I can then start to schedule the hectic social whirl that is my life.... (merely because I have something like one month with every weekend off and one month will none!)

Biggles says not the first weekend - do we hear any preference  12/13th - 19/20th or 26/27th?

Names so far:

Nick
Biggles
Allen
(Did I miss anyone?)

Dear Sean,
JR was great fun at the reunion and made me feel one of the lads again, his Quantockian ability to get away with not paying and stitching up a fellow room mate was Quantockian beheviour at it's best.
On our last mini reunion, we all managed to have a great meal with as much as you could drink and did not pay a penny. Kevin can verify this.
Dear Nick,
I now weigh 14 stone, when I left Quantock I was 7 stone. So your fat theory might work, though staying at Quantock in winter is a very brave thing. I've bagged the remaining heater so good luck with the theory.
Laurie The Gut Bucket.
PS My tummy now enters a room 5 mins before I do.

Big Kev,

Is that max figure, people that can be catered for within the School building or is it the total amount Mrs.P wants there for the weekend.
