I just thought I'd like to hear who were your favorite generals and why. Mine has always been John Bell Hood. I don't think the Confederacy had a better commander up to and including the division level.  Maybe he wasn't a great Army commander, but hey, he had a lot of company in that role on both sides of the war.

Doesn't anyone else out there have a favorite Civil War General?  C'mon, folks, I'm getting overrun here.  Two Confederate to one Union general is not going to go well for me.  Oh, wait a minute -- yes it will.

TinCan
Your #7
At the end of WW2 we were fighting Communist armed supporters, not large enough to be labelled as formal partisan movements in France, (a whole Army in Greece), Italy, the Balkans.

We weren't in Spain. Spain post-war was a good ally. Didn't they help fish the Thresher out?

And after the Civil war, Spain did not join the Axis. Except the Blue Division.
Cheers
Francophile Flash
