Would it not be more of a Spiritual Path? (sorry that was alittle hard to see) I get spooked by the word Religion. The Red Road would be in my feeling a Spiritual Path dedicated to the Red Road. No matter where you go, you have certain truths at your core, that do not change and no matter all the hundreds of thousands of years these truths have TRIED to be changed by this one or that one, these Truths still STAND today strong as ever. Like the Truth of the Moon and the Truth of the Sky, The Truth of the Stars and The Truth of the Mountains. The Truth of the Water and The Truth of the Stones. The Truth that the Earth is OUR Mother and we should be reverant in Respect to Her. We should honour all, regardless of what we THINK they are. We should learn from the past mistakes and move on with forgiveness in our hearts, that does not mean to forget, no, but to forgive, yes. Still we have our Truth, and we stand by that truth NO MATTER WHAT. And this TRUTH will ALWAYS STAND. Long after we all are no longer around.............annie | |

Annie How true the word religion is scary. At least for me. I have a very hard time with religion but my spritual world is the best path I have found, wish I would of found it sooner but it is all for a reason (which I do not know yet) for which I am thankful.

in ojibwa culture, life is travelled east to west on the medicine wheel it is the red line or also known as the red road, north to south is known as the black road. When we stay sober and drug free and try to live by a few spiritual princepals, we are walking the red road. when we hurt people and ourselves it is the black road. I know from being a former drug addict that the red road is alot better, I like native spirituality cuz most of our names for God are things like wakan tanka meaning great mystery or we call him the creator, we dont pretend to know what he/she is, we just know it is. we are not human beings having a spirtual experiance but maybe we are spiritual beings having a human experiance. |

Annie, I agree so strongly with what you wrote! The truth is the truth and will always be as such. It is absolute and cannot change. I believe we are all connected as one, no matter how much our differences may be. The earth, moon, stars--the universe are connected, as are all living things. This is where honor and respect come into view. In showing respect for these things, we show respect for ourselves. This is only my belief; I wanted to share it... Lautay |
