On the other hand the " pine" as you suggested as another translation, might have proven to be true too, at that time.

- The Intent behind the taken name ( or as it later came to be) is Stalk / search / find Medicine.
At first for myself,of course. If Granted, possibly to others.
Medicine would then be:
What One at that particual time needs / should look into / search / ( On Various levels ) to heal, or to feel better about, regarding a certain area in life.
