Understanding the present, by honoring our past...
 
During this week in 1972, the Alaska Native village corporation was established for King Island in the Bering Straits Region.  King Island is primarily high and steep rock.  The Native people who historically occupied the area lived in walrus-skin dwellings lashed to the face of a cliff.
