In Missouri it would be The St.Louis Arch. Its such a beautiful building. You can take a tram ride up the North or South side of the arch. The building is made so it continously sways, especially when its windy. LOL! I went up once and that is enough but worth viewing once. |

REPOSTING without the tag of Mickey Mouse. Its cute but a major no no on MSN. Walt Disney sues those using them and rarely gives permission except in private emails. I think it is thee vacation destination capital of the world... and about all I can say is ....I love it. Its a great place to live with a grandchild. Karen | |

The tallest building in Melbourne is the Eureka Tower, which has an observation deck, but from all accounts you have to be very brave to go on it. We haven't been there yet, as it's quite expensive.

well, guess it used to be the World Trade Center... now it's The Empire State Building is synonymous with New York City. For forty years it stood not only as New York City’s tallest building, but the tallest building in the world. Sadly, it regained it’s fame as New York’s tallest building after September 11, 2001 upon the attack and destruction of the World Trade Center. and Washington Square Park- which is 1/2 block away |

It would have to be Wright Patterson Air Force Base and the Air Force Museum. The base's boundarys go from Dayton, Oh. -- Fairborn, Oh. -- and Riverside, Oh.; it's where the Wright brothers tested their first glider, they have on display several of the different fighter planes. The museum is a wealth of information on aspects of the different centuries of the Air Force and our involvement in the wars ...... Karen |

the town i was raised in, and now live next to, used to be known as "the chair city" ... many, many woodshops in town, makers of chairs and furniture ... just about the whole townspeople worked as a chair maker, my dad included (actually, in a furniture manufacturing shop, i met my hubby ... he was a foreman, and i worked in the office) ... almost all of these places have been closed down, moved out of state, moved out of country ... to mark "the chair city" nickname, there is a huge chair in town ... there is a pic of it on this site ... the person near it gives you an idea of it's size ... |

The town that I work in is old, by Oregon standards - established in 1845. It was nearly completely wiped out by a flood in the 1880's, but rebuilt on higher ground. Here are links to some of the old buildings in the downtown Historic District: We also have a new addition to the downtown - an outdoor amphitheater that can seat 3,000 - 5,000 people. Not bad for a total population of 7,900: whoopi |
