Reading for Rand Noel, Part One
Hi -
Here are the first three cards of a Tarot reading, based on the ten card Celtic Spread. I am splitting it up since it gives me time to meditate on the cards as they turn up. And there is some rather intense energy here too, because each card is then, with the help of my Guardian Angel (GA) then related to both the Tree of Life and to your natal chart.
The relationship to the Tree happens to be a natural one: the Tarot keys were really developed by Cabalists, working from the Tree of Life, but you may wonder (being a Wolf) what the Tree has to do with Shamanism. The short answer is that the Tree appears in many versions - either as a ladder the Shamans use to climb to the heavens, or as a giant fir tree. The top shamans occupy the top third (the heavens); the middling shamans occupy the middle third; and the lowest shamans live in the bottom third. This last is the mundane world where all the rest of us mortals dwell.
The Wolf (your wolf) is considered to be a helpful spirit, but more specifically for some Shamans the Wolf is 'ayami' - a female goddess who is also a your 'teaching Shaman'. So, it appears it was not an accident that the Wolf came to be associated with your name.
The question I asked your 'ayami' when I began the reading was: What should I tell Rand?' When the spread was finished, I asked my own GA to summarize your reading in one sentence. She said: 'The surface of things can be deceptive'. I would think this is especially true when your Ally is a female wolf..
SIGNIFICATOR
I picked the Emperor, Key 4, for your significator; this was before I talked to your 'ayami'. The Emperor represents both the One Self (the Sky God) and the Zodiac sign of Aries. I chose him because Mars, the ruler of Aries, is trine to your Saturn; which I thought might make your animal a Ram (the initiator of action). It is still a good choice because it is trine to Saturn in your chart.
The cards were then laid out in the following order:
CARD COVERING THE QUESTION
ace cups
All Aces are good luck of course, because they represent the top of the Tree of Life where the Sky God dwells. The suit of Cups represents the Powers of Water, the creative world of mental patterns and the energy of your emotions and your mind. These powers belong to the Divine Mother, and your ayami informs me that this substance aspect of the universe, is 'malleable' to seeds from the Sky God.
In your life, she says, you are supposed to study how the Will of the Sky Father works through the agency of the Divine Mother. You are to learn that her first response is with IMAGES (or how this Will might be made manifest); then, in time, these images will 'coagulate' into things.
Your ayami, your teacher, wishes for you to focus on - not only how the universe really works, but also how you create your own universe. Using the powers of the Divine Mother, the images you habitually hold in your mind, invariably become manifested in your life. She says we are all creators; we can't help being creators; but (and for reasons that will come out a little later), you have special powers in this area - so 'things' happen much faster for you.
In astrology, the Ace of Cups relates directly to Cancer and to Virgo. These two signs are ruled by the Moon and Mercury (your mind). Your Moon represents the principle of connectedness, so you have easy connections to your 'ayami'. Both planets are in Gemini and conjunct. This suggests your emotions are vacillating, and you enjoy talking about them; the truth of that you can decide, but Mercury is powerfully placed in Gemini, which means you can also analyze and clearly understand your feelings. That is a gift!
Your 'ayami' further said that your head was in a dark place, but if you ever woke up you would be able to see that it is YOU who create all of the events in your environment. And now we see, clearly, how this Ace of Cups is a prediction of success in your life.
CARD CROSSING THE QUESTION
This card is the Ten of Wands and it shows a man (you) carrying a heavy load of worries and concerns. The ten refers to Malkuth on the Tree of Life, and this is called the Kingdom. But Wands represents the archetypal energies, the points of Light that will eventually condense into manifestation (the results). So, your ayami wishes for you to be very clear that what is CROSSING you are nothing but your own present (and very limited) concepts on the nature of reality.
Your real goal is to see the World as a Shaman would see it, and become a conscious participant in Creation. Further, and since a Shaman can travel through the various planes of reality, he must also become the guardian of the Temple (the body); because all journeysmust return to this Temple. Therefore, the Shaman must also learn to become a healer and a doctor. (You can practice on others first, if you are afraid you will hurt yourself)! Lol
The Ten of Wands refers specifically to the third decanate of Sagittarius, which sign is rules by Jupiter, and the decanante is ruled by the Sun. Your Sun symbolizes your ability to integrate all the facets of your personality, and in this case, the generosity, optimism and humanity of Jupiter in Aquarius. THAT should become the real focus of your life.
Your Sun is square to the planet Pluto, the planet of transformation. This contact symbolizes your power to regenerate yourself and things around you. In other words, you actually CAN transform your world; and you have the power to do this fairly rapidly. Unfortunately, if you are not conscious and aware, this can be expressed by wanting to make over other people or to dominate them.
(If you do not like that last statement, take it up with your ayami).
THE CARD ABOVE
This is the best that can be achieved and is the Seven of Swords, which shows a young man, so intent on victory, that he he stealing some of the enemy's swords. This illustrates the unstable influence of your desires. Like all of us, your desire nature changes from week to week, and these changes (says your ayami) are what upset everything.
And yet, Seven is the number of balance and equilibrium (and, for the Shaman's also represented the seven rungs in the ladder to the heavens). The equilibrating effect of seven was shown in the Emperor Key, in which his arms and head for a triangle (3), resting on a stable base of his crossed legs (4). In short, and I am quoting my GA now - a card bearing the number Seven, NPW appearing in the Above Position, indicates that you already recognize that you must, finally bring your powers into some sort of balance.
The Seven of Swords connects to Seperoth Seven, Netzach, on the Tree of Life, but in the sign of Aquarius. So, for our balancing we are told to look at Saturn, the co-ruler of Aquarius, and since this key ties to the third decanate, the co-ruler is Venus of Libra, and Saturn is exalted in that sign.
So - this card returns our attention to that powerful trine of Saturn to Mars, enclosing most of your planets, finding this harmonious balance should not be too much of a challenge - once you set your mind to it.
